I switched on my LG 42" LCD TV this morning and one half of the screen had no picture just blue and white vertical lines. Then half the screen went blank and then the picture has thankfully turned to normal. Can you advise me as to what this was and if it will persist in the future. Kind regards Miss S Johnson

It may be just one og those things wherby the microprocessor hung up for too long and failed to initialise the video controller in time.

LG 32LH30 LCD TV Problem

IMO Seriously for $119 it's not worth it.
However, it does sound like a capacitor problem
If you are "Serious" about fixing I'd find a TV repair Forum.
Else I'd go here and get a new one.

I have a 42 lg lcd tv when i switch it on the right side of the screen is darker than the left also there is a vertical bar about 1" at the edge

Be careful using this TV. There is a fault somewhere. No TV should ever do that, cold or not. Replace or repair it

Hello, I have a 42"

Sounds like a backlight is out. If its still under warranty, exchange it. First try unplugging it for two minutes to reset the t.v.

Westinghouse LCD TV - broad vertical green and blue lines

try to go to the factory reset and see if that helps. If not, you can then check your connection. if you use component (red, green and blue for video and red and white for audio), make sure all the color matches when you plug it in. if everything have been checked then you need to replace the main board and it should correct the problem.

LG 42" tv only has half of a picture. On left side of tv is vertical lines

One of your system boards is failing. Possibly the "Y" convergeance board. The LCD Capacitors will most likely have to be replaced.
