WFO 2260: drum not rotating on any wash cycle. No spin. Is there a cheaper solution than replacement of whole WM or is it not worth it? Machine is at least 15 years ols, but we've never had a problem with it. Paul H

No idea why but it happens to us to. You need to cancel the wash, switch off and leave a few mins then retry, not that it may work.
Now the spin cycle has stopped on ours too plus the spin is not actually working, drum is just going round and round slowly! We've had it just over a year so the guarantee has finished too :-(
Sounds like it is not rinsing properly.
If you have not already done so, then check the pump filter.
This is located at the bottom front right of basher behind drop down cover.
Unscrew anti-clockwise to remove and clean.
I was given wrong info. the machine did go through the cycle and drain. However, the drum DID NOT revolve at all. Main motor Brushes replaced. Now OK. Thanks.
You probably need to replace the brushes in the motor.
Remove rear panel, remove belt from drum, undo 2 screws securing motor, unplug lead to motor, lever motor back with a screw driver, keeping hold of it, and remove motor.
You will find the brushes located at the opposite end to the motor pulley.
Please leave a fixya rating for my proposed solution.
Thankyou.
Followup: (of techwannabe) After researching a bit further it was worth the investment to replace the sensor assembly and see if this would fix the issue. Viola! runs like a champ. The part was located locally for a mere $ 25.00 and with a few tools, strength of a gorilla to move the machine I repaired it. Yes a mother of four can complete the job! The unit works beautifully.........................
Hi,
Does the drum turn during the wash cycle?
When it comes to the spin cycle does it go through to the end without the drum turning?
It sounds like it could be the motor needs new carbon brushes.
Regards, Tom.
Sounds like you have a broken belt or a bad motor. The easiest way to tell if the belt is bad is to reach inside the drum and turn it. If it turns very easily, you probably have a bad belt or something has caused the belt to jump off, such a s a loose pulley or bad bearing. If it feels like there is a good amount of resistance, or a kind of "winding up" noise, then the belt is still on and you likely have a bad motor. Also, you could just scoot the macine out, unplug it, and remove the back cover a look inside to see if the belt is still on the pulleys. Good Luck!
