Every time I try to graph on TI 84 it says ERR: INVALID DIM 1:QUIT I have enterered something simple y= x+2 and window is set for -10<x<10 and -10<y<10 the curser in y= screen is highlighted so the graph is on.

Go to http://education.ti.com/downloads/guidebooks/graphing/84p/TI84Plus_guidebook_EN.pdf to download the manual. On page 401, you will find the following:
INVALID DIM • The ERR:INVALID DIM error message may occur if you are trying to graph a function that does not involve the stat plot features. The error can be corrected by turning off the stat plots. To turn the stat plots off, press y , and then select 4:PlotsOff. • You specified a list dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 999. • You specified a matrix dimension as something other than an integer between 1 and 99. • You attempted to invert a matrix that is not square.

Every time i try to graph something it says err:invalid dim

Deactivate the statistical plots.

Press [2nd][Y=] to access (STAT PLOTs)
Select [4:PlotsOff] then [ENTER]

That should solve your problem. Post a comment to this thread if you still have trouble graphing.

Whenever I try to graph the y= I get an Err: Invalid DIM 1: Quit message

  1. Press [2nd][Y=] (STATPLOT)
  2. Choose option [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]. Screen displays Done
  3. Press [2nd][0] (CATALOG)
  4. Press [PGRM] (C) to jump to first command that starts with c.
  5. Use arrow to scroll down to ClrAllLists, select it [ENTER]
  6. Calculator displays Done
  7. Start the new problem
To reset the Ram press [2nd][+] (MEM) [7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset]. Press [CLEAR] to erase the Ram Cleared message.

When trying to graph anything, ERR: INVALID DIM appears..

Hello,
The easiest and quickest way to start graphing is to reset the RAM. Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All Ram][2:Reset], then [CLEAR] to clear the RAM Cleared Message and go to the main screen.

I get the error message ERR: INVALID DIM with

If you are in the stat mode and entering points in list 1 and list 2, it could be that one list is longer than the other.

If you are just trying to graph from the y= screen, one of your plots is probably turned on. The easiest way to fix this is to press the 2nd button the the plus button, then 7 and then 1 and then 2. This will reset to factory settings.

Go to your stat plot screen, and select option 4 (PlotsOff), Press Enter, and try to plot a normal graph again
