No audio I just received my Blackberry Pearl today. When making or receiving calls I can not hear the person on the other end; however, they can hear me. It only works if I put the phone on speakerphone.

Make sure that your phone's in call volume is not low or muted. In case it is fine, then the problem is with the microphone and it needs to be replaced. I'd suggest to get it replaced by some authorized person or good mechanic as it will require the dismantling of your phone and if you would do it without the experience, then you might break the cover.

Its a hardware problem,the audio chipset maybe damaged or not working anymore.You can ask a certified technician to repair it.the audio chips is the one control or generates a sounds.

Please check the volume of you're Handheld still if it is not working, You need to walk into the service center to check the speaker's of you're Handheld.

This speakerphone is a separate speaker from the handset speaker, so if you can't hear through the handset and you have ensured that the volume in your profile is set up to max, then I would have to say there is something wrong with the handset speaker.

first try to formate the set ...and problem is still there then its hardware problem ....you hv to change your phone's Mic

Change the phone

After receiving a message with sound, push the button on the side that activates voice dialing. It sometimes takes activating it twice, but it will turn the sound back on.

Take out the battery while the phone is on wait for a minute and then put it back in and start it up!
