replace the print head unit not the cartridge.

Why dont you try uninstalling this form your PC/laptop and reinstalling it again.
This should help restart the printer again.

The "Ink System Failure" error is causes by air in the ink feed tubes. We have a step by step guide to purging the air from the feed tubes posted on our web site. I, too, used the same solution of holding down "OK" "CXL" and "BLACK COLOR" at the same time. Printer will restart itself and everything is a-ok!
