Hi there,
If
you are trying to use a SIM card in your phone and getting a message like
"Enter Subsidy Code", "Incorrect SIM Card", "SIM not
provisioned" or similar messages, then you need an unlock code for your
mobile phone. For you to unlock your phone, you may contact to your service provider Motorola V170 Unlock Code. Or I suggest to visit Motorola Unlock Code site, they will open up all networks for you where you want to use your phone and don't have to stick with one network. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.
Ah, I am a former tracfone customer, and the v170 phone was my first model. :) . Unfortunately no, because all of tracfone's phone models use a different sim card, even if you attempted to replace the sim card with an identical phone it would not work, the phone simply reads, UNREGISTERED SIM CARD. Its tracfone's way of making money, so unfortunately you'll have to put in your contacts all by hand :( which is a major pain in the rear.
Had a similar problem on my V170. Remove the battery and the sim card. Using a q-tip dampened (not dripping wet) with rubbing alcohol, clean the metallic side of the sim card and allow to air-dry, then wipe once more with a dry q-tip. Do the same for the metal terminals in the sim card slot if visible. Go ahead and clean the battery's contacts and the ones in the phone while you're there. Put it all back together and try again. This will fix most sim-card problems as long as there's no physical damage. Good Luck Jim
