My Canon i70 is a great little printer. I just completed printing a 3 page document fine. The next document printed with many missing letters (like the black ink was out). I replaced the black ink cartridge (canon brand) and still the same result. I then replaced the colored cartridge (canon brand) with no change in the printing. What could have happened all of a sudden. The test run looks good but it just won't print a clear clean document. thanks. Marlane

From http://www.refreshcartridges.co.uk/igloo/clearing-canon-pixma-error-message-e13-e16/

Locate the STOP/RESET/RESUME button on your printer which is represented by a triangle within a circle on the body of your printer and is usually in red, white or black as pictured below. With the reset button located hold it down for at least five seconds and then release it.

The printer's lying to me

The printer requires both cartridges to have ink before the printer will initialize and operational. Even if you are only printing black and white both cartridge have to contain ink or the printer will error out. This is standard on all ink jet printers from every manufacturer. You will have to get ink before you can print.

Hello. My Printer is Canon Pixma MP280. In the LED it says the error code P, 0, 8. I don't know how to fix it. I tried to press the Stop/Reset button for 10 seconds twice but it doen't fix the problem....

Mine had the same error message and it appeared right after I filled my cartridge up. (go figure) I turned it off and then on, took the ink cartridge out, (black) reinserted it and then scanned something. It printed out and the message is gone. I've yet to actually print from the computer yet but my guess is that it's going to work.

Bland and color cartridges have been refilled but

Ink level counter (program) didn't read actually ink at ink tank. Brand new cartridge ink level counter 100% (full), and ink 100% (about 10 ml). After may printing, ink will dry out, and ink level counter reach zero (ink out). Printer will not allow print anymore, even have refilled, because ink level read "ink out". For canon type, you just to release ink level counter, and counter just stop, but printer will allow to print. Press stop/reset button for about 30 second.

All i did was change black ink. hp photosmart C5180 it says error 0xc18a026 error INK SYSTEM HAS FAILED UNABLE TO PRINT. REFER TO PRINTER DOCUMENTATION ERROR 0xc18a026 PLEASE HELP!!

disconnect from power (unplug) and let sit for 1/2 hour. Then give it a shot.

Also, you might want to make sure that you've got that new cartridge set in there correctly.

How to Override Ink Level Gauge When Using Refilled Cartridges

This maybe in the manual under ink tank replacement, most cannons have this, but keep in mind that sometimes the ink feed tubes to the print head get clogged and then the printer will report no ink at all, these cansometimes be cleaned by soaking them in acholol

PRINT IN BLACK WITH COLOR CARTRIDGE?

Yes, you can print out in black from a color cartridge, however it is not advised as you will run out of colored ink twice as fast as it combines all the colors to get black. However it works great when your in a pinch and need black ink.
Just go to your printer properties when you print and the option will be in there someware.
