The sweeper attachement went "dead." What could be

Your battery may indicate fully charged but if dead it will do that and not work for squat. If charged the motor should run and turn the sweeper with power. If motor runs but sweeper does not check for a stretched belt or one that may have fallen off the pulley.

Are you sure your wall charger is working ok? You might just have a bad battery pack in the sweeper if your charger is working. Do you have a friend who knows electronics and has a voltmeter?

If so, have them check the voltage output of the charger at the plug that goes into the sweeper. Verify that the charger is indeed working ok. Then you will need to check the voltage on the battery pack inside the sweeper to see if your battery is good and holding a charge. A mechanical blockage could be something caught in the vacuum fan blade. You should be able to hold the main part of the sweeper up to your ear so you can hear and then pull the sweeper trigger and see if you can hear the motor try to start. Nothing happening may mean a dead battery pack. Regards, Dennis

I wound get a new sweeper. The cost of battery wound be 1/2 of new sweeper. Unless still on warranty

the answer is......
they're a pos and are a waste of your money

take off the belt . clean any hair from brush roller make sure movement smooth . re position belt and move by hand to make sure roller is not skew , , rubber is riding sideways and causing friction .

It may be something else. I have just had the same problem and I turned my Dyson over and removed the head bar by turning the 3 plastic screws. I found that a small plastic pipe, on the left handside, that attaches the head to the main machine had come off. I eased this back into its housing and problem is now fixed. Not bad for a total technophobe!

If you are talking about the electric hose, try using your none electric hose with the crevice tool attachment to extract the particles from the other one. When using any of the hose please leave it running a few minutes to make sure everything in the hose moves through and does not stop midway through.

Do you know where brush cleaner attaches to the leifheit carpet sweeper. or do you have a pamphlet with instructions for carpet cleaner
