Won't switch to tuner

I have a Pioneer DEH 1300 in my boat, and it plays CD's just fine, but it I can't get the radio to work when I press the source button, whether there is a CD in the unit or not. All the functions seem to work just fine such as the EQ and the other music enhancing buttons and/or functions. Is there some sort of lock for the radio? Or is the unit not grounded properly?

Sounds like the source button is not working properly. I have seen this type of problem caused by a crack in the display board. It can also be a bad contact on the source button.
Could be several other things as well, but most of the time it is something like a cracked board.
You can also try resetting the unit, look to see if there is a very small pin hole sized button on the display someplace, if so, use a paperclip or a toothpick, ect. to depress that switch. you might get lucky and the micro just needs to be reset. Sometimes you can reset a unit by disconecting the power wires for a few seconds, or just unplug the harness in the back for a short time.

Hope this helps

How to set clock on a pioneer car radio mosfet 50wx4

Mosfet 50wx4 indicates a feature of the Pioneer car radio. It isn't a model number. One Pioneer car radio/CD player with this feature is the DEH-1500. On this model, you need to turn off the unit to set the clock. Press and hold the Source button (to the left of the preset tuning buttons) until the device turns off. Press Audio (upper right corner) repeatedly until the clock appears in the display. Use the arrow keys (Skip/Back or Left/Right) on the right hand side of the radio to select a segment of the time to adjust. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the current time. Repeat choosing the time segment and adjusting the time until both the hour and minutes are correct. Press Band or press and hold the Audio button to exit the clock setting mode.

ManualsLib has the manual for the Pioneer DEH-1500 here: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Pioneer-Deh-1500-Car-Cd-Player-Mosfet-50wx4-Super-Tuner-3-Am-Fm-Radio-3432555.html . See page 16 for the clock setting procedure: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/129844/Pioneer-Deh-1500.html?page=16#manual . See page 6 for the picture of the front-panel buttons for the DEH-1500.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of the car radio if the above procedure doesn't work for your unit.

Hi, I have a pioneer DEH-P5500MP which always worked just fine but now when there is no cd in the radio it won't play so i try the source button but that doesn't work so i put a cd in and it starts...

It sounds like you may have a bad switch. If you have a multimeter you can check the switches for resistance. If the reading on any of the switches is less than a few megaohms it is probably bad.

Ipod stop working a radio. MP3 Player will work.

Usually, On a pioneer stereo, the button that you press to change sources (Tuner, CD, etc etc).. if you hold it in, the unit will turn off.

Look for a button that says Power, or PWR near it with a Square and little line coming from the square, that means you need to hold that button to perform that function. Hope this helps.

My Aux-in wont work

did you turned aux function?

turn off your player by pressing and holding volume controler.
press and hold longer (~5 sec) it again to turn it on (you should see 'tuner' in the lcd).
push up arrow to select aux and right/left to turn it on.

now you can connect your ipod and select aux (as ussual switching between tuner/cd player/aux)

cheers :)
