How do I prevent laptop from occasionally freezing?

that is a hard one, G60 is retired EOL at HP.com
is it the PC or just internet slow
at home, work or STARBUCKs ?
If all PCs are slow say so, ( or is only wifi slow,hummmmm)

say doing what, on netflix or just typing a local text file?
there are 4 cause (only 1 PC slow and not only internet)

software corruption (bad hdd does that too) ask how to fix.
hardware bad, HDD bad tops the list !
not upgrading to SSD boot drive (all hdd are slow)
: hdd is full or memory is full, so ask for cures.

A dead battery should not slow you down. Sometimes it might stop the machine booting, but if it gets that far it should run normally apart from the time...

Mouse doesnt work nicely when playing cross fire

no pad?
well it can only be

no PAD or dirty pad or pads with patterns mouse hates
bad mouse only gaming.
bad mouse drivers.
or setting wrong.

why not try the mouse on other PC same pad see if it acts wrong
then if works great the other PC is failing (software)
NO PC told
NO OS told at all
if PC is infected it runs slow or erratic.
if PC has bad hdd same. and lots more,

is only one game failing
is this your first gaming PC"
is this only in MP mode gamed or also SP mode,? both? what?

try a real gaming mouse
if internet is slow mp will be slow , or OMG the gaming server is slow, MP. HAPPPENNNNNNNNNNs

Slow

1. Try to reboot your PC.

2. If your PC still slow, try to check the firewall or the anti virus.

3. Or maybe your browser is not updated, try to update it.

If you have done all the steps, I would suggest to reformat your PC so that those unwanted files will be deleted, for sure after you successfully format you PC it will work fast.

HP PC bogged down despite cleaning cache and removing old programs

Try adaware or spybot. Your PC could also be overheating. Open the case and blow out any dust. I also would check your add/remove programs and delete an software you don't use. Hit ctrl alt del when your PC slows down and look at the running processes for what might be slowing your system down.

Speed of excel is v slow

i wold check your RAM on your PC to see if you have enough, also when you are working with excel are you making scans of your pc with your anti virus ? this could slow you down. I would suggest that you get "tune up utilities 2008" as this can give your pc a good clean up and speed up.

There might be several reasons for the performance to go down. Three main things which usually contributes to your PC performance is Size of the RAM larger it is faster it will be. Processor speed more it is shows better performance finally free space on the hard drive (Very Important) it can be compared to a person carry 10 pounds can run faster than person carrying 100 pounds. Less the free space worst the performance.
