We turn it on and the green on and off light just blinks on and off but the tv does not come on we hear the fan but no picture, we had moved it to another location when this started. the lamp looks good and is not too old. what do you think could cause this? how do I tell if the lamp has gone bad or could it be another problem.
We bought a $2.00 thermal fuse at the local Radioshack, installed it and my tv works just fine. We were told it was the lamp, the projector or the tuner. It was a $2.00 thermal fuse.
We have this same problem and called a repair co. to fix, they said it was the tuner kit ($400) or
projection kit ($800). We haven't made the decision to fix because with labor cost we can buy a new
tv. We would like to find a place that sells the kits used and a manual so we can fix it ourselves.
If you are not a tech you don't want to mess with the voltage that feeds the lamp. The vibration of moving the set can cause the lamp to go bad. blinking LED is usually a sign the lamp is bad. It is a good Idea to open the lamp door and then close it again to make sure the door switch isn't the problem
