Kodak Easyshare 5100 Wont Print In Color Or Black

When I print 4x6 photos, it prints absolutely fine. I sitll have more than half of ink in both cartridges. When I try to print something online it either wont print at all, but acts like it is, or it prints some things on the page, but not the whole page. Whe it decides it wants to print some images or text it's completely faded. Sometimes it will print a faded image, but not print the text on that page at all.

I cleaned the print heads and calibrated it again, but neither seemed to work. Someone please help me figure out what's wrong. The printer itself is only a couple months old. Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. The printer was fine a few days ago and now it won't print any text and if it does it is very light. I cleaned the cartridges and calibrated the printer...nothing helped.

Kodak Easy Share 5100 AiO Series printer will print color 4x6 pics great; on any kind of other document be it word, excel or a web page - it does not print the text - only the color pictures. Have completed the mx tasks, reinstalled, etc.etc. with no resolution.

  • fadeout53 Nov 17, 2008

Black ink has stopped working.Got some faded pages for a short while
then nothing since. Will print colour. Cleaned the printer head and calibrated - still the same problem.

  • pbialobz Nov 20, 2008

Black printed poorly a bit and then quit. Thought it was the ink so replaced both color and black with a new one. Print a few good pages , then poorly, and now nothing.

  • Anonymous Nov 20, 2008

Exactly the same problem, Absolutely hopeless - despite replacing the cartridges itwill hardly print anythuing (except in dark blue !!) Most odd

  • woodburn126 Nov 23, 2008

I have cleaned the printhead and it will not print in either black or color. Do I have to get a new print head or can this one be fixed?

For all of those problems, you need to replace the Printhead. This is one of the most common issues among the Kodak All in One Printers, they simply stop printing text. However, it seems that Kodak is sending out some new printheads that work so much better, so you should get in contact with their support and have them replace their printheads. yes woodburn126, it really sounds like you need to get a new printhead. Although, there is a small chance that you might have misplaced the current printhead. I suggest you to go to kodak.com/go/printheadsupport to get instructions on how to install it properly (and if you are afraid to push so hard that you might break it, don't worry, it will not break).

Rollers won't pick up photo paper.

Hi I would suggest you to try once again by putting the shiny side up and print it again, some time even if the pages get stick with each other than also the printer wont take paper in. so try one more time and do reply if you still have the same problem or nay other.

Kodak 5100 Needs Both Cartridges To Print?

Unfortunately, you cannot used the printer if one of the ink cartridge is empty., compare to the other printers you can print a black text or gray scale if the color is empty or one of the cartridge is empty.

All kodak printers work the same both cartridges should have ink on ink before you can use It.

Can I only use a black ink cartridge? i ran out

Before you print through the computer, select Print, then select "Properties". Select the "Color" tab and in there, select "Print in Greyscale"
This works for most color printers I have used where the color ink is gone.
Hope this helped.

I have a Kodak easyshare all in one printer 5100

You need to clean the printhead of the printer to solve that

issue. Because everytime you print, excessive inks are going

to the printhead that's the reason why it's clogging the

system up. That's because Kodak printers is using

"pigments" as inks that's why Kodak printers are producing

high quality prints unlike other printers - a photo printed from

kodak could actually last for about 100 years. Now back to

your issue, you need to clean the printhead from the printer

but not manually. You could clean it by going to the

software of the printer namely the KODAK HOME

CENTER SOFTWARE. You need to click the "?" mark

icon on the upper right corner of the software window then

under the General Links select Maintenance then choose

Clean Printhead. Do it at least twice and then try making

prints. If that still doesn't work try calling Kodak Technical

Support Representative: 1-800-421-6699

I hope I have been some of help. ^_^

Kodak Easy Share 5100 will not print after I changed black cartridge

Press copy and photo at the same time and print a demo sheet. Look at the eyes of the two kids in the picture, if they look like zombies, your printhead is clogged. try cleaning the printhead and print the demo again. If it's the same, you need a new printhead. Call Kodak.
