Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer patch package" This also appears if I try to delete adobe Reader 8.1.1

Have you already installed the program? Have you gone to add remove programs and tried uninstalling the program then re-install it? 8.1.2 is out so here is a link to the full install. Try those solutions and see what you come up with. If it does not work I will need to know what Operating system you have.
Good luck,
Lee

I have two suggestions for you. You could download the application from adobe and reinstall it and see if that will fix the issue or when you try to remove it either through the uninstall option in the adobe heading in your start menu or from the control panel's add/remove programs section you should be given the option to remove adobe x or repair adobe x. Try the repair option and see if that helps solve the issue.
Good Luck.

My Adobe reader 8.1.1 will not open. I get error message that the patch package file is damaged and cannot be fixed. I am unable to uninstall Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and cannot Install 8.1.2 nor any patches....

Hello there.
This problem happens often. Please try the following steps to resolve the issue.

1) Restart your computer.
2) When the machine first starts again it show some white text on a black screen, before the Windows logo appears. Gentyl tap the F8 key repeatedly _before_ you see the windows logo until you are presented with a Windows XP Advanced Options menu.
3. Select the option for Safe Mode using the arrow keys.
Then press enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.

Now that you're in your computer in Safe Mode, go to your Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs and chose Adobe Reader 8, which should uninstall properly now.

Hope this helps.

File name: Microsoft Clean uninstaller.exe

run it and select the microsoft installations that are listed and uninstall them. Once it is finished cleaning up restart your pc and reinstall office. If the reinstall does not work then you have not removed all parts using the microsoft cleaner. Open it back up and check for any left over parts of the installation

Deleting adobe acrobat

Hi riz1380

If you still have the file that you installed it from run that first. Then use remove software/programs. If you dont have it anymore download it first.

When trying to open adobe reader 8.1.1 get following message: patch package could not be opened. verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify...

it sounds like the application that is needed to uninstall the version 8 is corrupted or missing. Try reinstalling version 8 first then uninstall it before loading version 9. If you can reinstall version 8 and it asks you if you want to repair or install, choose install to get all of the files back before uninstalling it again. Always uninstall from add/remove programs. If deleting it from program files instead of uninstalling it correctly it will cause problems.

Adobe 7.0.8 cant uninstall or update, can't download PDF in web browsers

Gem7 again, I just posted my last comment about 15 minutes ago but thought I should say I also just tried to install the 7.0.9 version as recommended on the Adobe website because of the security problem facing the old version I have (7.0.8). It came up with a message saying "Error 1714. The older version of Adobe Reader 7.0.9 cannot be removed contact your technical support group." Same as what I said happened in my last post when I tried upgrading to the 8.1.2 version! The last time I used Adobe according to my control panel was in 15/5/2006, so almost 2 years ago now since I've had this problem so I can't restore my system to an earlier date because I haven't saved any system restore points prior to this date. I don't know what else to try, can anyone please help? Thanks Gem.

Ans: Click Start go to control Panel Click addorremove Option next you see more softwares list chek adobe acrobat reader then click remove then your UnInstall y or no geting this messege click yes click next remove copleted
Successfully next Restart computer you install new version okkkk
