HOW DO i LOAD TRIMMING LINE ONTO THE TRIMMING HEAD OF MY MTD LINE TRIMMER MODEL # MTD LT31C REV POO?

The feed bump located on the bottom of the unit is the portion of the head that you tap on the ground to feed more trimmer line as you are trimming!

Check the spring tension, if the spring is weak, line can be fed out too quickly.

push the 2 tabs in on the cutter attachment and pull the outer case off to expose the spool

For your machine, make sure you are using the Manufacturer's recommended trimmer line. For your model, they recommend using Echo brand .080" Cross Fire diameter line. You also need to insure that when you load the spool with the line, that it is loaded (in the right direction) so it can feed properly.

Does the trimmer head spin freely? If so then it is somehow disconnected from the motor. There should be a motor coupler somewhere near the motor and also near the trimming head. Make sure they are connected.

To change the head on the trimmer you will need to turn the trimmer upside down as if you were going to take the head off to restring it, spin the head and look for a slot in the side of the head when you see the slot, keep spinning until you see it line up with a hole in the metal piece the head attaches to. Stick a nail in the slot and hole and turn the head off the trimmer, if I remember correctly the head is backward thread.
Follow the steps backward for putting the brush blade head on the trimmer.

Most are 40:1 but if you go 50:1 to be safe it will be ok.

Yes, it does feed automatically.
Please make sure the trimming line spooled in your spool regularly.

If above does not work, please go to service center to change a lever inside spool housing.
