Sony Ericsson K800i, replaced LCD screen but it keeps flashing white

White Screen Of Death. Quite common on Sony Ericsson phones. My K800i does it every time its battery shuts off while it's on (so I try to make sure it doesn't). You need to (google terms) reflash sony ericsson phone Maybe also first backup GDFS The photos, except those on the memory card, and other stuff will be lost, I'm afraid. But good news is that your contact list can likely be saved by backing up the GDFS.

I had a similar issue, whereby my phone would turn on for 30 secs then the screen would go white and the phone would switch it self off then on.

After a lot of messing around even throwing the phone around the place. I took out the memory card and the phone worked fine. When I put the card back in, the phone started misbehaving again, so I guess the card is knackered.

There is also a possibility of moisture as well. Sony Ericsson's are notorious for going white screen when there is moisture or corrosion in the phone.

To be completely honest regarding Flashing the phone... it is not easy and has many steps. I would recommend going to www.gsmhosting.net. There, search for forums on flashing the K800i software. To flash the phone, you will need a Cruiser Box, the correct cable, and the full software for that phone and your service provider. The K800i is DB2020, which is Sony Ericsson's most up to date encryption.

Believe me though, there is way to much involved in flashing the phone to post here. How long have you had it and if there is no moisture, have you considered a warranty exchange through Sony Ericsson?

try a new battery and if that does not correct it then take the phone and have it tested

It's possible the interface cable for the screen is not connected properly. Make the cable is completely seated into the connector and the cable lock is properly set (if it has one). If that doesn't fix the problem then I would suspect either the new screen is defective or there is a problem with the graphics circuit on the phone motherboard.

try removing the memory card and then boot the piece.
