Go to NETGEAR Router.

After connecting the Router into your network, you must configure it. You can do this using the Smart Setup Wizard -- where the wizard will attempt to auto-detect the type of Internet service you have through your ISP -- or you can configure the router manually. It is recommended that, if you aren't used to setting up Internet connections, you let the Smart Setup Wizard do some of the work for you.
To configure the router, you'll use the information that you filled out earlier in the Installation Guide.
To get started:

  1. Select Yes if you want to use the Smart Setup Wizard.
    or
Select No to configure the router manually.
  2. Click Next.

If you have lost your password check the Customer Support from the website you have lost it from. If it is your router password, it should be on the back the router. Hope this helps.

Forgot my Netgear password. Can I retrieve it somehow?

Hello,

Usually the Netgear deafult password is 'password'. IF that does not work, check the back of the router, there should be a button that you need to stick a paperclip inside to reset it to deafult factory setting. If you don't want to risk that, try your ISP (internet service provider) and ask if they can reset it from their side.

1. Log into your router by accessing either:

http://192.168.1.1/or http://192.168.0.1/

only one of the above will work.

2. Enter your user name and password that you set for the router. If you did not change it, use the default:

Username: admin
Password: password

3. Click on the Wireless Settings link.

4. Your WEP key will be in the wireless security settings. Key1 is the key you are looking for.

WEP key recovery

Connect a computer to the router via Ethernet cable, then you should be able to log into the router to set it up by opening a web browser and putting "http://192.168.1.1/" or "http://192.168.0.1/" (without the quotes) into the address line. The default username and password is usually "admin" and "admin" or username "admin" with no password. From there you should be able to configure the router and retrieve or change the WEP key.
