To connect to your wireless network using Vista's WLAN Autoconfig, follow these steps:
Step 1:
Right-click this icon Suddenly today after working for a couple of years - 5449-001.png at the bottom-right corner of the screen and select Connect to a network.

Step 2:

Select your Wireless Network Name
then click Connect.

NOTE:
If the wireless network name or your SSID is not listed, the SSID Broadcast on the router might be disabled. For instructions on how to connect to the wireless network with the SSID broadcast being disabled, click here.
If the computer is not detecting any signal or is not seeing any wireless network, change the channel of the router. For instructions, click here.
If WEP/WPA is enabled on the router:
Step 3:
Enter your wireless network WEP/WPA Key on the field provided then click Connect.
NOTE: To learn more about WEP/WPA and other Wireless Settings, click here.

NOTE: Make sure Display characters is checked, to display the WEP/WPA key used by the router. You can get the passphrase or network key from the encryption that has been generated (if using WEP network security) from the router's web-based setup page. If you're using WPA network security, the network key is the key for passphrase.

Make sure you enter the wireless network's WEP or WPA key not the Passphrase.

It is also possible to make a wireless connection even if the wireless security is disabled on your router. If you don't see any network SSID from your network list, make sure your wireless adapter/device is ON and your router is in good condition. If your router shows any unstable occurrence, click here.

WRT54GC linksys wireless router- suddenly all lights are flashing constantly and it does not work

Reset the router for 30 second.
There is a reset button on the router. For WRT54GC the reset button might be at the bottom of the router. There is a flap that you need to turn around. You will see a small reset button. Press it and hold it down for 30 seconds.
release the button. wait for 1 minute. unplug the power to the router and plug it back in.
wait for 1 minute and see if poer light becomes solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
if the power light is solid then it is in working condition.
Once you reset the router it will come back to the factory default settings.
You will need to reconfigure the router for Internet connection.
If the pwer light is not solid and keep on flashing then it is not in working condition.
If your router is in warranty period then contact the manufacturer and get it replaced.

Belkin N router reads everything but the computer.

If your router was working before, and suddenly stopped working, then you probably need to reset it.
Unplug the router from power, also unplug all network cables from it.
Wait about 30 seconds.
Plug power back in, followed by network cables.
Wait some more seconds while the router restarts.
Only the Power light and the Status light should be solid.
All others in use must be blinking, which means they are in use.

Try connecting to the internet with cable first, then try wireless.

It should work.

2Wire 473 router problem

Take the modem and plug it into a GFCI outlet. You can find one in the bathroom or the kitchen.

If the power light comes on solid green and the dsl comes on red then the modem is good. Was it plugged into a power strip by the computer? If so, plug it straight into a wall outlet.

If the power light comes on solid red then the modem has hardware failure. I would contact your ISP and have them replace it if it is still underwarranty.
