Static is usually the result of a bad connection. I suspect there is a bad solder joint. If you are electronically inclined, use a listening device or oscilloscope and connect it to the volume control terminals if it is not present on the input to the volume control then it is the volume control that is bad which happens in old equipment best solution is replacing the volume control or you can try cleaning it with an aerosol product for this purpose.

There is probably both a global volume and individual program violume as well. One or both may have reset to a lower level and need to be turned up. It's also possible that the general output has a setting for line level or instrument level, which may be software controlled. I don't think there is anything wrong, it has a very low line level output intentionally. This is to minimize distortion to an amp or mixer. Mine is the same and also a different brand. It is actually made so you could play it through a stereo without damaging it.

First plug a set of headphones into the Left audio out and see if you get any sound from there... NOTE: it will only be in the left headset and this is normal. Turn up volume control... note the level will be low as this is a line output, not headset. This is a test to see if there is audio.

Press Disc Utility > Choose Option 4. SOUND > Press Enter > Choose Option 5. PRESET > Press Enter > Switch off Write Protect if its on & its Done : )

If this ties to a keyboard, make sure the keyboard and this are BOTH plugged into the same receptacle. You should send a higher level from the keyboard (turn volume up to around 70% or so) and use less volume at the input gain of this amp. Use more at master volume if the amp has one if needed. If the hiss is there with NO input cables plugged in and input gains at 50%, that is objectionable, the amp probably needs servicing. Unused channel gains should be clear down.

Check if headphone output is normal... sometimes the headphone jack switch fails and doesn't send to speakers when headphones are unplugged.

Ok guys. Just got mine XP50 fixed with the "No Display" problem. The LCD screen was blank without text and only shown orange color. The problem is one of the capacitors on the main board was dead. I have replaced all 3 caps on the main board and the problem is solved and if you are a little handy on soldering, you can do it yourself. The 3 caps you should replace are:

- C901 (I used 16V 330MicroF)
- C65 (I used 5V 4.7 MicroF)
- C 902 (I used 16V 330 MicroF)
