Hampton Bay 52 In. White Redington III¿ Ceiling Fan w/ Remote Control & Light Kit Logo
Posted on Nov 06, 2010

I have a Hampton Bay Redington III ceiling fan light. I would like to change out the light kit with a 4-60 watt bulb light kit. I don't know what is adaptable. Do I have to buy a Hampton Bay light kit? How do I know what is adaptable from Hampton Bay or other manufacturer?

I just replaced my bulbs on my ceiling fan light fixture with the compact flourescent bulbs 13 watt to replace the regular 60 watt bulbs but they are flickering now. Could there be a problem with wiring...

Your remote control I would assume includes a dimmer for the light. CFL bulbs are not compatible with dimmers. If it has a dimmer, you must use incandescent bulbs.

My Hampton Bay ceiling fan runs only on high speed and the remote has stopped working even after changing the batteries. Does Hampton Bay have a life time warranty?

Yes, look up www.hamptonbay.com and get their contact number from them. It sounds like your transmitter (Remote) has failed. If it were the receiver the fan would most likely not work at all.

Remote works for fan but not lights

I know you replaced the bulbs, right? There may be a loose connection on the receiver unit wiring to the lights. Check it out.

Hampton bay ceiling fan stopped lights work

you can test the light switch by temporarily hooking up the light bulb to where the fan normally goes ....the bulb will only work on the highest speed setting but can prove if the switch is bad or not . turn power off before woking in there ... if you know someone with a volt meter then they could quickly test the switch for you .. they can also test the motor for continuity .. .. most of the time the trouble is simply bad connections inside the wire nuts ... like insulation not skinned properly or wire not in the wire nut properly ..you can remove and inspect each connection (power off of course) ... sometimes there is a seperate power line for the fan and light ... so they can be independently controlled externally ... thats not needed when the pull chains are the only off on method ...

Changing the light in a 54shrl

Redington III. The remote receiver is integral to the light kit. There is no replacing the light kit, you can, however change out the glass, but you're stuck with what you got.

Light kit has light bulb size that I cannot find bulbs for

Melanie, you must have gotten a bad batch of bulbs. I have installed over 100 Hampton Bay ceiling fans and I have dropped them from up the ladder and have them bounce across the floor with no damage. I think they must have allowed a substandard batch to go out.

Home Depot is where I buy my replacement bulbs. Hampton Bay make fans exclusively for HD.

You can easily change lighting bases, as the wiring is the same for all Hampton Bay. You may even appeal to Hampton Bay on the internet and they might send you the kits. But I don't think you'd have success in a store.

If you try replacing them with bulbs from another Home Depot you may find them much hardier. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need additional help please write back.

Hampton bay ceiling fan (7030T) remote does not work.

This symptom is usually caused by either a bad receiver or bad transmitter. Install a new remote system (receiver & transmitter).

Hampton Bay Remote

You must use the switch on the fan itself.
