I have a Roper washing machine Model RAX4232PQ0. I goes thru the normal wash and spin cycles but when it is done, the clothes are still wringing wet. It sounds as if the last spin cycle is not spinning fast. I put it on the last spin cycle again and it seems to dry out the clothes some more. The pump is working and drains the tub before spinning. What could be causing this problem? (Note: I did replace the moter drive coupling and that did not solve the problem.)

... thing - the spin cycle doesn't really seem to do an effective job of wringing out theclothes once. ... Sounds like it's not spinning fast enough.
Known problem:
A Failed switch Ark-Les part #8318084
Incident report on there website:
I have a Roper model #RAX4232PQ0 top-loading washing machine. The door switch wore out, short-circuited, and caught on fire. The machine continued to operate, so it took a little while to figure out where the smell was coming from. The failed switch is an Ark-Les part #8318084.
Sounds like the timer is screwed... Sending out the wrong signals and the dryer is doing the rinse cycle when it should just be the spin cycle. Do t know what your timer looks like in that washer but most now days look like the picture.
Make sure that the clothes are not too heavy ( jeans and sweats ), and put in the machine evenly. If the machine is off balance, it won't spin fast enough to wring out the clothes.
IF ITS A TOP LOADER YOU MAY HAVE A BROKEN LID SWITCH. LOOK DON THE HOLE IN THE TOP WHERE THE LID PIN GOES CAN YOU SEE THE LID SWITCH ARM? IF ITS NOT FLUSH WITH THE HOLE ITS BROKEN. SOMETIMES YOU CAN STICK SOMETHING THROUGH THE HOLE TO ACTIVATE IT
