I have an old TI BA-35 Student Business Analyst calculator, probably for over 20 years. It is only showing two decimals when I do calculations. What must I do to allow for 8 decimals? I don't have the manual anymore.

The TI BA-II Executive Business Analyst (maybe not your model) has a key labeled FIX. It is in the middle of the topmost row of keys. Press the FIX key followed by the number of decimal digits you want.

Press 2nd [FORMAT] 2 ENTER. FORMAT is the 2nd function of the decimal point key, ENTER is the second key on the top row of the keyboard.

Press the MODE button, once or twice. When calculator is in financial mode, the screen should display FIN.

This procedure is valid for The TI BA II (executive Business Analyst). Press [2nd][FIX] to access the (MODE) setting. As you execute the key sequence [2nd][FIX] the Mode change cycle s between FIN STAT and the regular computational mode.

Your BA II PLUS stores numeric values internally to an accuracy of 13 digits. However, the numbers it displays depends on the number of decimal places to which you have it set (choice of 0–9 or floating decimal). To set the number of decimal places displayed to three: hit [2ND][FORMAT][3][ENTER]This setting also continues indefinitely (even though the calculator is turned off and on) until it is changed.

Hit "Fix" then the number of decimal places you want.

2nd - then the decimal button gets you to format. You should be able to change the decimal display from there.

Clear calc and mode registers & select two decimal places- ON/C, 2nd, CMR,FIX,2
Select FIN Mode - 2nd, FIN repeat until FIN shows up in display
Enter months in mortgage - N
Divide annual interest rate by 12 - Enter result as %i
Subtract down payment from cost of home - Enter result as PV
Compute monthly payment - 2nd, PMT
for Payments at beginning of month , press DUE, PMT

I have a question for you, what battery does the TI BA-II Constant Memory calculaor use?
