Hi ,
I succeeded to run my Scanjet 4470c under w7 32-bit Ultimate this way :
Do not connect scanner .
Load XP driver ( yes , XP) , reboot , connect scanner and wait for confirmation of successfull operation .
Reboot .
Dowload and install FreeKapture ( yes , it's free ) from http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html
Open Freekature , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlett-Packard . Scanjet 4470c works fine in this mode but if you choose HP PrecisionScan Pro , program will hang .
In any case , no slides or negatives scans possible but the rest works .

If you have the W XP install disc , you could install a virtual version of W XP on your HDD (http://downloads.vmware.com/d/info/deskt... )
You could also partition your HDD (http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-part... ) and install W XP on the new one .
Otherwise , you will have to buy a new scanner .

Make sure driver XP ( yes , XP ) is correctly installed .
Then , download and install FreeKapture ( yes , it's free ) from here : http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html
Load Freekapture , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlett-Packard . Scanner works fine in this mode but if you choose HP PrecisionScan Pro , program will freeze .

There is no driver for the scanjet 4470c that works with my Vista system on my Toshiba laptop.

Vista or W7 , it's the same problem : there are no more drivers for Scanjet 4470c .
I find a way though , to make the mine work in WIA mode under W7 32-Bit Ultimate . Should work with Vista too .
Make first sure driver XP ( yes , XP ) is correctly installed .
Now , download and install Freekapture ( it's free ) from :http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10673689.html
Load Freekapture , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlett-Packard . Scanner works fine in this mode but if you choose HP PrecisionScan Pro , program will freeze .
In any case , no slides or negatives scans possible but the rest works . As for the buttons , only power button will respond .

I need Windows Vista drivers for scanner hp 4470c. The support product of HP does not have it. Thanks

I checked the HP website - probably just like you did. They do not have drivers for the Scanjet 4470c. Looks like time to get a new scanner... You can list the current model on craigslist - maybe someone would be interested in it themselves.

Anyone found driver for WINDOWW 7 & HP scanjet 4470c yet?

The only ways to get scanner 4470c run under W7 are these 3 options :
1° solution one : make sure driver XP ( yes XP ) is correctly installed . Download and install FreeKapture from http://download.cnet.com/FreeKapture/3000-2094_4-10711598.html . Load FreeKapture , clic on Scan and select WIA-Hewlertt-Packard . Scanner will work fine in this mode but if you choose PrecisionScan Pro , program will hang .
In any case , no slides or negative scans possible but the rest works .
2° solution two : if you have XP install disc , you can install a virtual version of XP on your HDD ( http://www.vmware.com/products/player/ )
3° solution three : if you still have XP install disc , partition your HDD and install XP on the new one (http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html ).
Don't wait for HP to produce compatible drivers for this unit , it's useless . Regards .

HP Scanjet 4470c compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.1

You will not find drivers for this old scanner. Sorry but this scanner is not compatible with Tiger, Leopard, or Snow Leopard, and HP offers no drivers other than for OSx 8.0 & 9.0 which are 10 years old. Time to purchase a new scanner.

Need drivers for a hp scanjet 4470c running on vista

I used to work for HP and called one of the technicians there. Unfortunately there really isn't a solution for this. HP doesn't have a driver to run this unit on Vista. They do however have a program to upgrade or trade in this unit for a new one that does run on Vista.
