Hi The screen on my Philips 32PF9641 often goes blank when switched on from cold. At first the TV comes on correctly but after 15-20 seconds the screen goes blank with the sound still on. I turn the TV off for a moment, switch it back on and it tends to work for a few seconds before going blank again (with the sound still working). Quite often I have to repeat this a number of times before the screen eventually stays on. There are days when this doesn't happen and it works as it should. I contacted online help with Philips to see if they recognised the problem but all they offered was an expensive service engineer. Has anybody had a similar problem? I suspect it's something like dodgy solder joint and until it fails completely there may be nothing for an engineer to find. Regards Rick

hi, There is problem with the back light of your tv. In LCD tvs CCFL are used as back light to give light to independant pixels. CCLF lamps required high voltage to light. This high voltage is provided by the inverter board inside ths tv. If any one of the chopper transformer (high voltage transformer) have some problem then the inverter will shuts off itself preventing damges to the power supply.
You have to check the 24V from the power supply. If its ok the you have to check the inverter board.if avilabe replace the same. if you are not able to do the same i will prefer to consult some one experienced in it. Back light inverter board will look like one in the picture.
