My laptop is (HP) AMD Athlon II P320 Laptop (G62-244CA). and my web cam is HP WEBCAM 101, its not working. I have checked the device manager and it says that my web cam is working properly. But when im using skype and msn, a grey screen shows on the web cam region. Also when im using the software cyberlink youcam, it gives an error message. PLEASE HELP!

Yeah. You have to install fresh copy of windows . Its like starting from the scratch again !.

Either:
* no elecrical power is reaching the disk-drive
* the "data" cable between the motherboard and the disk-drive is not connected
* the disk-drive has "died"

Take the computer to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting and repair.

Uninstall your web cam driver and install again, bay your cam driver is occur or corrupt,

I'd call HP and request a new power adapter. I've had a few of them go bad before and it's just a short in the cord. Your plug might be loose also...but a good place to start is by calling HP and getting a new cord.

You can try uninstalling the web cam driver , and reinstalling it back ..
Click on start > in start search type in device manager {(for vista) for xp right click on My computer > click on properties > then select hardware > device manager }.
In device manager look for something like imaging devices.
Please click on the + sign beside it .
Then right click on the web cam driver > and uninstall it .
then go to the following url and download the web cam driver from there.
http:\\hp.com > software and drivers.

Install the web cam driver . Restart the notebook .

1st You download Webcam Driver. VEO Webcam Driver After this install the webcam driver in the system.
Installation of Webcam Driver

• Go to the control panel
• Click on the System Icon
• Click on the Hardware Tab
• Click on the Device Manager then
• Select the Unknown Device where yellow Question Marks sign on it.
• Right click on it and uninstall it.
• After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
• Driver installation Wizard start.
• Brows Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
• Driver will be install.

If the webcame is built in to your laptop you don't need any special program to make it work just need to run the setup cd that came with tha laptop to install the software for the webcam....

This is known Webcam issue in DV6000 notebooks. To resolve or narrow down the issue, we have to check few things.

First open Device Manager.

Please follow these steps to open Device Manager:

1. Right Click on 'My Computer' icon on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. The System properties Window opens.
3. Click Hardware tab and then click the Device Manager button.

Expand + Imagining Devices and check if the HP Webcam is listed under it.

If Webcam is not listed there, then you have to contact HP to get the BIOS update.

If it is listed there, right click on it and select Disable. Again right click on it and select Enable.

Now open any applications like Quickplay and check if Webcam is working or not.
