Note: A fatal error can be caused by DisplayLink Core software. If you have this installed on your system, try uninstalling it and then see if this resolves the issue. Additionally, some antivirus or desktop locking programs can cause errors in AutoCAD as they lock the system environment from working. Your antivirus may even need to be uninstalled.

If all of the above solutions fail to resolve the issue, and a full uninstall and reinstall of AutoCAD does not help (see Remove All Products from a Windows System), then you may need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

When the first screen flashes, as the bar is loading, hold up. Let go once the bar finishes. If that doesn't work you may need to hard reset. Just google how to give it a hard reset and remember that you will lose everything that isn't backed up if you do.
You might want to try a a hard reset. This will erase everything on your hand held so you might want to try the free palm chat that palm offers. Here is a link to that. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see Palm Chat. Click on the link that says Chat Now and follow the directions. Best wishes.
Perhaps you haven't tried performing a more severe reset to break the
freeze. You might want to try doing a hard reset. This will erase all data from your hand held so make sure you have everything backed up on your computer so you can sync it again after the hard reset. Note, when I occasionally receive a Fatal
Alert error, the Reset on-screen button almost never responds to a
tap...I invariably have to depress the reset button in the back of my E2.

Depending
on a variety of factors including the available memory on your E2 and
other installed applications, the problem might or night not be caused
directly by the program you were trying out. But once you get the E2
unfrozen, you should refer to this article to troubleshoot the cause of
this apparent software conflict: http://kb.palmone.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=PalmSupportKB,ts=Palm_External2001,Case=obj(27908)
Also,
I recommend going to the developer of the software you are using, to
determine whether there are any compatibility issues at their end, and
whether they have an upgrade available.
Here are the directions for the hard reset.
1. Press and hold down the power button. 2. While holding down the power button, use the tip of your stylus (or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your handheld. 3. Wait for the Palm Powered logo to appear and then release the power button. 4. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all your data please continue and then follow the on screen directions.
If this doesn't help then I recommend going to www.palm.com. From there you will need to select PDA's and then the model of yours. It will go to another screen and you should be able to contact palm via free chat. I have had to do this several times and both times I got fast service. Hope this helps.
you gotta do a hard reset. i had the same problem. go to the palmone website and look up how. make sure you back your stuff up in case you can't get things back. once you perform the hard reset the error should go away.
Check docs to go and Avantgo Documents to Go and Avantgo are usually the culprit with me; if you use these try to reinstall.
Check (delete and reinstall) "complex" applications, build to be able to use databases on the SD card.
The final straw is the procedure suggested by Palm;
-make a copy of your back-up from the palm directory; program files/palmone/van/backup.
- do a hard reset
- reinstall the applications one by one, hotsync after every install until you have found the offending application
LyncHS, Zire 72, Soft Reset and XP Professional
I do a sync and my PDA crashes... I have to do a soft reset almost every single time. I have been having the same exact problem but cannot seem to find anyone who can help!!!! Before I got my Zire 72 I had this problem with my Sony Clie. I even narrowed it down to this LyncHS application and still could not get help. I finally purchased a new PDA because I was getting tired of this happening. It was not the PDA... it is the Palm OS or a Palm application that is a problem. I have not installed ANY third party applications so PalmOne needs to quit trying to tell me to uninstall those.
MitaMe, you are absolutely correct... this is not acceptable and since I am not the only one having problems, I fully expect PalmOne to take it more seriously and try to resolve it. I should not have to perform a soft reset most every time I sync on my Windows XP Professional PC. By the way, I sync on my computer at home which is not Windows XP Pro and this does NOT happen.
