If the drive cant locate go to device manager click on hardware changes ....or locate CD drive in device manager unable it if it is in disable mode.

Make sure the cmos setup is set to try booting from the CDROM. There are various methods to access cmos setup...but usually you need to press either the Delete key, or F10 or F12 right after turning on the power.
If it won't boot from the CDROM, the problem is is more likely to be in the power supply or motherboard than the hard drive.

Update the windows xp or the operating system. else go to my computer icon , right click it and then go to properties and go to hard ware tab and press device manager and right click the modem tab and press update driver.
