sv007p, Uh, yeah, I could, but I'm probably too far away. I've repaired 3 with same symptoms as yours has. At least you read about the flashlight diagnostic trick!! It' not completely DEAD, YET! Leave it off for now. It will not get better by itself. If the last time you were using the monitor, like say a week ago, and it still had a "clear, sharp, bright" screen then there is hope. What has happened is that the INVERTER circuit that provides 800-1300v to light-up the horizontally hung Cold-Cathode-Fluorescent-Tubes has failed, or the Switch-Mode-Power-Supply has a degraded 12-20v dc output. Without some basic soldering tools, solder, meter, parts source, you will not be capable of effecting a repair on your own. If you do or don't meet the criteria above, get back to me and I'll tell you other options that are open to you as a consumer. I'm louie12fix on fixya or [email protected] BYE for now.

Increase your screen resolution in Windows Instructions are in Windows Help & Support on your computer. Just search for "change screen resolution"

If you cannot increase your screen resolution you may need to install your video driver. You computer manufacturer's website should have video drivers for you to download.

Good luck!

I have a proview monitor PL926WBI Model 900W

It seems to be that something gets hot inside after a few minutes of operation of the monitor. So I placed a small fan so that air flows thru the monitor and that did it. What gets hot inside , I don't know.

For your resolution to come up perfectly, update your graphics driver. Also if your monitor came with a disc. Install the software if any available on it.

Resolution problem in Windows 7

Windows 7 official release is in Oct. The Windows 7 version you have is probably the Release Candidate version, this is the last Beta version before its offical release. This version does not have drivers for al lot of devices and if you cannot get the driver from ATI at this stage then you have to wait until it becomes available.
The release Candidate will shut down every hour early next year and will stop working completely in June. You will be forced to buy Windows 7 or go back to XP or Vista.

Based upon the Operating System you can change the aspect ratio from 19:9 to 4:3. In windows you can right click anywhere on the free space on your desktop once the menu pop-up click on properties and then setting. once the window open choose the different resolution.

Proview wb926wbi monitor

Try changing the resolution to 1440x900. This is the ideal resolution for this monitor.
To change the resolution:
Right click on an empty space on your Windows desktop.
Choose Properties (XP) or Personalize (Vista)
Choose the Settings tab (XP) or Display Settings (Vista).
Slide the resolution slider to 1440x900, then click apply.
If asked whether you want to keep this setting, choose yes/ok.

Note: Not all video cards support this resolution. Updating your video card's (not monitor's) driver may add it.
