My microwave is not heating food items and the plate is not turning.

one or both of your heat cencors are bad or the mag there is a belt that turns the tray it must be wore out

Have a shop look at this---there usually is a recessed safety switch inside the jam that will prevent the unit from working with door open--sounds like the problem may be with it.

replace or rewind the transformer.

The magnetron is getting to hot and will eventually fail, especially when it is arcing, "a safety issue convern" the cause is the part mentioned above, or there is exposed metal on the inside cavity.

the plate has nothing to do with the microwave heating up the food
but the magnetron that heat the food is bad and will need replacing
I would ask a electronic shop how much they would charge to replace it , and if is not worth it to you then a new one would be a good call

The cooling fan is a must!

Otherwise, the magnetron will be ruined, and that drives up the repair cost.

the diode is open when the voltage arive at the anode junction it locks off due to the diode is not passing the voltage,change the diode and the microwave will resume operation.good luck.
