press and hold AL key until multiple beeps are heard. this puts you into program mode.
TO ENTER NEW MASTER CODE press the following keys:
AL 1 AL (new code) AL (confirm new code) then press the star key
to EXIT program mode hold down any key for 3 seconds

Dennis, remove the battery pack and hold down any number key for 10 seconds to bleed of any capacitor charges. Reconnect the battery and within 3 seconds, press and hold the A key until a series of beeps is heard, then release the A key. This erases all programing and restores factory default settings. www.alarmlock.com is a great place to get this type information. At the top of the home page click on "support" then on that page scroll down to "technical library" at the bottom of the page, then look for your lock under "programming instructions".
