Hi

Well about guaranteed your 2 gigs ram is probably DDR II ram which has maximum of four gigs with 64 bit processing and 2 with 32 bit is. So motherboard needs upgrade. 35.00 for good giabit or board with 1000 megs a sec ethernet lan. With ddrIII ram. And upgrade operating system I believe win 8 has max 16 gig ram win 7 uses 8 gis vista and longhorn 64 use 4 and xp normal edition 32 bit uses 2 max. So you about have to run win 7 or 8. Win 7 will become direct x incomparable at some point making us change to win 8. Win8 cost like 300 to 350 and tiger direct.com has good deal of the win 7 pro media center for 75 bucks. So spend 150 on good speed 8 gig ram, 125 bucks for 12 core and at 4 GHz I think. And a board for 35. Reuse all other componets. And you\'ll have a 2500 dollar computer and best on the block. Step 1:
If your computer is 6 yrs or older it might not support windows 7 also you will need a minimum of 1 GB of RAM for 32 bit or 2GB of RAM for 64 bit to install windows 7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/products/system-requirements

I want to add more RAM. Is it possible?? Worth it??

It Depends On How much ram you are running now. More ram is Always A good Thing.
However, The Amount of Installable Ram Depends On the Operating System you are running.

Windows XP, Vista, and 7 32 bit (x86) systems only except up to 4 gigs of ram. (Sometimes 3 1/2)
Windows XP, Vista, and 7 64 bit (x64) Systems will except up to 16 gigs of ram. (Some Beyond that)
If you are Unsure which System you are running,
1. Click on the Start Menu
2.Right Click on my Computer
3.Doube Left Click on Properties

On the Main Properties Page it should display
1. Which operating System you are running and Which bit it is (eiter 32 or 64)
2. How Much Memory (RAM) you are currently Running
3 and What Proccessor is Installed in your computer

Tosheiba Netbook NB205-N210 2 GIG, upgrade to Windows 7

I personally have not but if you are concerned how it will run, you should be fine, windows 7 is very efficent on resources.
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
These are system specs so if you exceed these then your laptop will run great.

    Hope this helps

I have an older Acer Aspire 3000... it recently became to cluttered and when I tried to reformat loading windows 7 ultimate, it stopped saying it couldn't find everything it needed. I'm fairly certain its...

Not all systems are supported by Windows 7. Infact many items that were supported by vista are not supported in windows 7.

looking at your system specs you woudl originally have AMD Mobile Sempron 3000+ / 1.8 GHz , 256mb ram and windows xp home as your original.

this system does not meet the minimum requirements to run Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 at all.

minimum specs for windows 7 are

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

  • i do not recommend a 1ghz system. i would recommend a 2ghz or better with 2GB of memory for a basic version

When we try upgrading xp to windows 7 the upgrading failed because our cpu is old can i upgrade my xp to windows 7 using a old cpu or use a new cpu

NO you cannot, on that same computer, no matter what OS, because, you MUST change your central Processing Unit, CPU. To allow Windows 7 to work correctly.
