I want to install my canon lasterbase mf5630 all-in-one printer to my laptop which has windows 7 installed. but my laptop doesn't recognise it. tried to download the driver from canon.co.uk/support but all the drivers are 32 can't get 64bit. please help.

Are you running the Lexmark driver for Windows 7 64 bit.
Try down loading the driver and installing it on your p.c.
Suspect USB driver for printer is missing - Windows can't detect it as it doesn't recognise it. By installing the Lexmark driver it updates windows to recognise the lexmark printer usb interface.

I have spent hours to find a solution... there is no driver. But there are definitely 2 solutions:
1. MF5630 - using ONLY printer in Win 7 x64:

1. First, Click on the Start button in your screen, further click on Control Panel button and then double click on Devices and Printers button.
2. Then click on Add a Printer button in the menu.
3. Further select the Add a local printer button from the available menu.
4. Then choose an existing LPT port and click Next button .
5. Further select the correct driver from the driver list menu for your printer. Suppose if the requisite driver is not available then click on the Windows Update button. After the Windows 7 Update installation finishes in your computer, once again search for the appropriate driver for your printer.

2. FINAL SOLUTION - for printer and scanner - if you have proper PC configuration:)

you can install the WIN XP environment where you can easily install driver for Canon MF 5630 (or any other by Win7 x64 not supported printer/scanner) and additional software.

BUT YOU NEED to run: Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions. Windows XP Mode is not supported on Windows 8.
Your BIOS must support Virtual Machine.

Yes, it is Windows 7 compatible. You can find the drivers for the printer at the link below. Just download and install the driver for your computer and the printer should be installed. If it doesn't install that way open up control panel, go to devices and printers, go to add a printer, choose local printer, use the default port and click next, choose have disk and select the drivers that you just installed, then just click next through the rest of the wizard. Just make sure you can print a test page.

my pc currently using window7.....but my mf5630 cannot support window7.....how i can soft this problems?

You can download the required installation drivers from manufacturer's site by clicking this www.cannon.com

Select and download the drivers according to the operating system of you computer (Win XP/Vista,others...)

The best site for downloading a software for your printer is the website of your printer brand name. Probably, www.canon.com
