Hi, The red lights indicate an electronic failure, since you got this unit a week ago I would first contact the store where it was purchased to see if they will exchange it for you, if they won't, then the x box will have to be sent in for warranty repair. Call Microsoft and they will issue you a return label. Good Luck to you!

ahhh...the red ring of death....ur 360 is fried n needs to be sent back....microsoft will repair for free.....its theyre fault

If you have two red lights blinking, that means that the A/V cable is not securely inserted either into the Tv or the console. If you have three red lights, this means you have a hardware failure, and willl need to contact microsoft for free repair. If it is one light, it is just an error and should subside by restarting the console.
