Re: After reloading window xp iam facing sound problem....
There is nothing you can really do, sometimes there will will be delays because the computer is having a hard time processing the information and starts to lag.
You can always try re downloading drivers for the audio portion of the computer and seeing if there might be some updates for the mic or the karaoke program you are using.

I assume that you know your way around adobe audition 1.5 because I'm currently using adobe audition 3 on windows 7. The menus are different, but I'm going to give a few points that might help.
Windows Sound/Volume: Make sure that the sound card you are using is selected, specially if you are using an additional external USB sound card (which is much better). Disable other sound cards, if any.
Adobe Audition: One of the pull down menus located on the upper part, it has an option that says "Device Properties" or anything like that. This is where you set the input signal will be coming from and likewise the output signal.
The input signal should be the input of the sound card you selected in windows. Same goes for the output signal.
On multi-track view, check the track to be recorded. Make sure that the input is from the input of the sound card and not from anything else. The button for the setting is somewhere near the Solo/Mute/Record buttons.
If this will be set correctly, you will be able to play the song on the 1st track and record ONLY your voice on the 2nd track.
I would suggest you to use a headset (without mic) and play the karaoke for them so that they can listen the music through the headphone while they sing. Connect the mic on the mic plug on your computer and record the songs they are singing with rhythm of the karaoke using an audio editor like Audacity or Adobe Audition and similar softwares. Suppose if you play the karaoke on your speaker, then the music will be heard from the mic and it'll be mixed up with the songs he/she is singing. For best result, Record the sound/songs and save it as different file and mixdown the karaoke file with it later. Otherwise, you'll not be able to get good songs. Please let me know if you need further help.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.
In your Volume Control settings there is a MIC MUTE that may have been turned on. Just clear the checkmark out and that will turn it off. Also in Control Panel / Sounds And Audio Devices / Audio tab, in the Sound Recording section, choose the Volume button. A small window will open titled Microphone. Make sure that this is not muted, and that the Volume control is not turned all of the way down.
I don't know about MACs but I assume most computers are the same in their general anatomy when it comes to the sound system.
ie. Windows has a digital recording system built into the OS that allows you to plug an 1/8" patch cable into the "input" of the soundcard of the computer. Years ago I recorded several things from karaoke songs I sang to pre-recorded song I mixed from my DJ console. The volumes needed to tweeked to avoid sound distortion but it sounded so good I've used my recordings at gigs.
Usually when something eletrontronic gets wet (like a mobile phone i drop in the toilet as long as you dont turn havent tried to turn it on until the inside dries and all power sources disconnected. (i waited 1 week b4 turning it on, if its easy to get inside by undoing a few screws then do so, other just wait for the greater good) all the electronics should work as did my mobile. If youve already run power through it i would expect the cuircuits are fried but you might be lucky
let it dry
hope its not too late
