Step 1:
Open a web browser such as Internet Explorer.
Step 2:
Go to the Address bar and enter your router's IP address ("192.168.1.1" is the default IP of most Linksys routers) then press [Enter].

NOTE : For WRP400, the default IP address would be "192.168.15.1" and if you place the router behind a primary router with the IP address of "192.168.15.1", then the router will automatically assume a new default IP address, "192.168.16.1".

When i try to install - 3676-003.png

NOTE: If the IP address of the router has been changed, type the router's IP address in the Address bar instead.

The router's IP address can be changed by:

1. Running the router's setup CD.

2. Changing it on the router's web-based setup page.

1. Check the router's IP address. For instructions, click here.

2. Press the Reset button at the back of the router for 30 seconds.

NOTE
: This procedure will reset your router to factory defaults. Any settings on the router will be erased. The router's IP address will be "192.168.1.1" and the password will be "admin".

Step 3:
A new window will prompt for a User name and Password. Leave the User name field blank then enter your router's password ("admin" is the default password), then click OK.

If you forgot the router's password you need to reset the router. For instructions, click here.

Password problems.

Depending on the type of router, you could have various defaults set, if you never changed them.
You can press the reset button somewhere located on the router itself, using a pen/pin/pencil, and then google your brand of router asking what the default password is.
If it is a Linksys, you could google "Linksys default password" or "Linksys default login" for example.

I don't have my user name and password for my wireless network and need it to connect a wireless printer

If you have the CD that comes with the adapter then you can try uninstall Linksys software and install only the drivers of the adapter.

Remove the Linksys Adapter and un-install the Linksys Software from Programs menu. To re-install the Drivers insert the Linksys Setup CD into your CD-ROM drive. When the Welcome screen appears click Exit. Connect your USB adapter to the computer. When the Found new Hardware Wizard window appears, click Install the software automatically (Recommended) then click Next. Click Finish when the installation is complete.Try to connect to the wireless network again. See if that works. You can also download the latest drivers from Linksys website on any other computer. Save it on a Flash drive and transfer the drivers on your computer.

My new netbook won't accept my seven letter password on my linksys-G Home router. It's asking for 9 letter password which i don't have. please help

A linksys router password should contain at least 8 different characters. You have to put one or more character to change or put your password as authentication. If you have a further query then let me know. Thanks for using FixYa.

Connect HP 1102w to Linksys wrt54g

Hi! I was able to see that you've got a wireless printer. If you need to connect this to your router, this works like connecting a laptop wirelessly. First, you need to know your wireless name (SSID) and your password (WEP/WPA key). In case that you did not configure your SSID and password, it could be found on your router's sticker. If you were able to configure the two, then you just need to enter it when your wireless printer would ask for these info. If you needed help in configuring your router, I have here a page that you can follow just in case. Please visit http://www.columbia.edu/acis/networks/aptnet/linksys/index.html. This would help you on how you can set-up your router. In case this won't work, you may need to remove the printer's driver from your computer and reinstall it.Try to print a document via USB, just to make sure that it's working, then you may proceed in reconnecting it wirelessly.

I have my wii all set up except for the internet. a guy came out & fixed my wireless but now its asking fr a password & i dont know what that would be... i thought maybe on the back of my router...

If it's a Linksys wireless router, then the default password is "admin" in small letters (no caps). Don't worry about the username, it won't require it, until you get into the settings. If it's a Belkin, then Google: Belkin default password, and it will then give you a list of default passwords, depending on your model type. Good luck.

Have a router but not software for linksys, have reset the router but don;t know how to put in new password

Welcome to fixya

No proplem you don't need a software cd to secure the router. Please follow the steps

Click the below link
http://192.168.1.1

Now it will ask for username and password

Enter username = ( blank) and password = admin
If you can't login using this credentials then you will have to reset the router

If you logged in . Then click on Wireless > Wireless security

On this screen select

Security Mode : WPA Personal
WPA Algorithm : TKIP
WPA shard Key : "enter a password here"
Group Key Renewal : set to default

Click on save settings. After that restart router .
Now your wireless network is secured and you will have to type the WPA shared key inorder to connect to router when it prompts

Thanks
