Last night I sent an email with photos. This morning "still sending".
I tried to delete the Email from Outbox, unsuccessful.
I would like to know how to delete, cancel or remove this Email from Outbox.
Please advise.
Thank you.
I also have tried to attach too many photos to an email which is now stuck in the 'sending' mode and has slowed my whole system down. It will not allow me to delete it. I have unplugged network cables, switched everything off and returned the next day to find that the message is still 'sending'. Can you help?

You can't really download Outlook Express as it is part of Windows XP. If it is not there, you can add it though the Add/Remove Programs option in the Control Panel. Select the Windows Components icon in the left-hand pane.
In Vista Outlook Express is replaced by Windows Mail, and in Windows 7 there is no email program, but you can download Windows Live Mail.
If you have Windows Mail, you no doubt are running Windows Vista. Sorry, but Outlook Express is not supported in Vista. You are stuck with Windows Mail or a third-party mail client. FYI, I use Thunderbird and am quite satisfied. It works with Windows XP through Windows 7
Open you outlook without internet connection then try to delete. If you can't then delete you outbox close you outlook and open it again. For further help plz contact.
you should never even attempt to send such huge files, first of all that will take hours to send, and will most likely be rejected by the service, and as far as I know there is no email service that would allow to send such huge files, gmail, with the bigest storage I know, 7GB, has a 20MB limit on file sending.
You can't email that large file, burn it to a cd and mail it over.
I've had the same problem, and my way to fix it was to turn of the firewall and check if it worked, and it did.
When I was sure that the firewall was my problem, I gave accsess to Outlook Express manually through my firewall.
I can probably help you with that to, but then I have to know what firewall/anti virus program you use (if you got one at all?)
Hello I havent seen that problem with Outlook Express just with Microsoft Outlook. but this solution should work with outlook express to. here how you solv it. you need to remove the outbox file manually. remember that all your outbox files gonna be deleted. step by step. 1.close outlook express 2. go to C:\Documents and Settings\"your user name"\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\("alot of numbers here.->"{7850C6E6-099E-4EFD-A3F5-A88CA4FC6169}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\
* if you can find Local settings you need to show hidden files! a. go to tools>folder options->view-> mark show hidden files and folders-> ok
3.in the map outlook express delete the outbox.dbx or move it somewhere.
4. try now to start the outlook express and the outbox should be empty.
Empty the Outbox in Outlook Express, move any messages you want to Send later to the Drafts folder.
Close Outlook Express.
Do a Search for .dbx files. Search:
Start > Search > For Files or Folders > All files and folders,
In the field for: all or part of the file name
Key in: .dbx
Below that, click on More advanced options
in the field: Type of File, select (All Files and Folders)
place a checkmark in:
Search system folders
Search hidden files and folders
Search subfolders
click Search
Locate the Outbox.dbx file and Sent Items.dbx file and delete it.
Restart Outlook Express, a new Outbox.dbx file will be created.
Send yourself a Test message to see if it leaves the Outbox.
You may need to enable Show Hidden Files and Folders to see the .dbx files. Windows XP:
Open My Computer, Tools > Folder Options > View tab,
under Hidden Files and Folders, verify Show Hidden Files and Folders is selected.
Remove the check mark for Hide Extensions for known file types. Apply, OK to save and close.
Here's the fix if when you send an email attachment from another application it gets stuck in the Outlook Outbox...
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\MailSettings] "StrictAccountOrder"=dword:00000001
Tooks us a long time to come up with it but great to have! It's fixed in Outlook 2007.
