If you post a picture that would be easier and I may be able to locate the cable for you. Other than that there is a couple of places to check. One would be LPAV out of St. Paul, MN. They deal with nothing but used/older equipment and have tons of that stuff. The other would be allied electronics. If they do not have a premade cable but have the ends and you need further help I could probably make one for you.

Reseat the video cable connection under the keyboard, and see if the lines go away. If not, connect an external monitor, see if the lines show there. If the lines do not appear on the external monitor, then replace the LCD. If they do appear on the external monitor, replace the motherboard

Not really, it could be the LCD ribbon, LCD inverter. Also does the system power up? Like does the fan spin? And is there a Hard Drive in it or not, Sometimes the Hard Drive pin connector will do that. " Not The Hard Drive, Part that Hard Drive Pins plug into" If you want me to see about fixing it for you, you can send it to me and I'll see about fixing it. I mostly get trouble with Screens from the Gateway Brand they mostly have the LCD Issues. But I do mainly repair for IBM ThinkPads but also do other brands aswell.
