You sure can, but I doubt you will find one at a decent price.

It is more likely you will find another TV with a different defect and fix it using the parts from yours than barely finding a replacement screen.

Plasma TVs are hard to disassemble because of the more stable construction needed in the first place due to the heavier displays. LCDs are a whole more easier in this regard...latest Chinese models don't even have a chasis, they have the LCD mounted with screws directly on the plastic cover...it SUCKS...but that's another story.

In your case, it's not only going to be easier to find a TV with a different deffect and intact display, it is also probably the only financially meaningful option available.

That's at least our experience. Do not kill the messenger...but vote for his answer :-)

Hi I punched my 42" vizio LCD HDTV the screen

You cannot fix the screen. Your only option is to replace the screen. Replacement panel could range from $160-$230 range. If you cannot replace the screen yourself and take it to a shop to fix, the repair bill will cost more than a new set. May I ask your TV model # ?

Yes, probably expensive tho? Ya need to get a firm "Quote" not an estimate, from a reputable repair man/shop.

Help - 15 mth old 42" edtv "plasma" black screen" have power and sound

First thing to check is if the back lighting has just failed... Power the set on and looking across the screen can you see a shadow of a picture happening? You might even use a flashlight to shine directly at the screen while you look at it from an angle.
