I need to know how to take cube roots on the TI-30XIIS

Press [3][2nd][^] and then enter number (for which you want to know cube root) and press [=].

Square root of 39: Press 3 9 [square-root] =
[square-root] is the key just to the left of the divide key.

Cube root of 9482: Press 9 4 8 2 2nd [cube-root] =
[cube-root] is the shifted function of the 0 key.

For other roots, you can use the [nth-root] function, the shifted function of the key above the divide key. For example, to calculate the fourth root of 16, press 1 6 2nd [nth-root] 4 =

It's the shifted function of the x^2 key, just to the left of the 7 key.

To calculate the square root of 3, press 2nd [square-root] 3 ) ENTER

Square root is the 2nd function of the square key, to the left of the 7 key. To compute the square root of 62, press 2nd [square-root] 6 2 ) =

You can calculate cube roots by using the cube root function (the 2nd-shift of the 0 key). You can calculate arbitrary roots by using the x-root function (the 2nd-shift of the y^x key, just above the divide key).

The TI-89 has one function to find whatever root you want of a number.

To find the cubed root of say...64, you would type:

root(64,3)
