This issue is most likely related to a switch that is activated by the plastic tab protruding on the "upper right door," I would inspect for this plastic tab and trace it back to the copier end. The tab should rest inside of a hold on the copier; attempt to manually trigger the switch by sticking a screw driver or similar inside the hole and depressing the switch (it's possible there is more than one switch.) If this does not resolve the issue, you either have multiple switches that need to be activated, or one of the switches is faulty and must be reseated or replaced.
