Finding and installing a hp C4380 network printer on windows xp home so i can wifi print from it

It's really annoying! this product is supposed to work heh!? i just cannot seem to get it to work on a win xp home laptop. i have a belkin router providing the network.

i can install it as a usb printer but tried to add it over the network and i couldn't detect the printer, i tried to install it as a network printer with the usb connected (the way that the manual says to do so) but whenever i come t the part of detecting it it never shows up!!!!! even when i finally figured out the ip address/url (or whatever it is) which is 192.168.2.4

If people absolutley cannot get a solution or don't want all the hassle of windows i recommend getting a MAC! (as the adverts say, they "just work") -> i downloaded the latest software last night and got it installed and setup in no time!, i can even scan from it wirelessly!!!! :)

but yeah, i am trying to get it working on my moms laptop so i appreciate all the help i can get!

cheers, Steve

If only it was just THAT simple doreen31987
i tried it and it complains that windblows cannot connect to the printer because i have typed it incorrectly (NO!!!!) or the printer has lost it's connection to the server.
i have just connected to it on my mac (the computer and OS that actually WORKS!) and it's fine. windows is behaving like a blind OAP and its doing my head in!
this whole experience is going to prove that windows is complete ****. but if you have any other suggestions i am willing to try them out. it's for my mom not me.
thanks for trying again

How do I connect a HP7520 photosmart printer to my Nextbook tablet so I can print from it

1. Connect your printer to your home WiFi network.
2. Connect your tablet to your home WiFi network.
3. On your tablet, go to the Play Store and download and install the HP ePrint mobile app (Android version).
When you want to print a document from the Netbook, just open the app and follow the instructions.

Print from nokia E63 through WIFI

Try connecting your printer directly to the wifi router/switch in a shared network configuration. Then go to your router settings, find the local ip address add this as the 'host'. Your settings should be as follows:

Driver : HP Mobile Printing
Bearer: Socket/HP Jetdirect
Access Piont: My Home Wifi (kaba)
Host : ip address of you printer
user : Blank ( tried my windows username,no use)
port : 9100
Printer Model: Officejet Printers

You will have to reconfigure your drivers on your pc as well. Mine installed as a wireless shared printer even though the printer is not wireless but I have it connected to my wifi switch for sharing and it worked fine.

Good luck

Print spooler service not running on Windows XP

Spooler depends on the RPC service being running. But you really need to get into event viewer and check for anything related to either RPC or Print Spooler. If you're trying to print to a network printer you could have firewall issues either within Windows or your router. Think about what changed on your system around the time this problem began.

HP 4550 PRINTER PROBLEM

Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Printers and add a printer. Select it as a network printer, and stop it searching (unless it finds it of course - which sounds unlikely!) Then click on "The printer that I want isn't listed"
Choose to add a printer using the IP or hostname, and click next.
Type in the IP address of the printer. This can be found by printing out the network configuration page from the printer. The port will be filled in for you. Click next.
The printer should now be added.

Motorola WPS870G print server

just bought this relic? box? and expect it to work in W10? what?
tell all connections and all related equipment (gear) and OS run.
we can not ever guess others networks. wired or wifi.
not.

MOTOROLA WPS870G Wireless Print Server 802.11b / g, RJ45 LPT, USB 2.0 a true Blast form the PAST 2005 for worse, older printers.
LEGACY relics, I can do.
the manual is here. free 115 pages,
the topic first is , what printers work here, not told yours.
the box new has CD with XP driver, and are useless now.
so what then>? you never said XP or up to W11 use.
it really is a print server, that is for sure and wireless so you can print from any wireless PC to the unstated parallel LPT printer of old
page 8 quote

"Windows IPP Client software is supplied for Windows 98SE and Windows ME computers. IPP support is built-in to Windows 2000 and Windows XP
computers."

the rear of the PS, has LPT 25 pin (dinosaur) and USB that
runs wired printers this way, but I bet newer printers USB fail here.
easy as pie (eating cherry pie slang)
NO PRINTER TOLD BUT I GUESS USB PRINTER AS LPT ARE ALL DEAD NOW, RIP ,LPT 25PIN PRINTERS.
the manual covers both things wifi setup and USB printer and test print pages.
my guess is your setting up the PS , wifi pages and it fails?
read page 15 and for sure direct printer app that is useless today xp apps are that.
the wifi on the SP must be set as a fixed IP in your home router, using mac address of the SP. MAC = IP , RESERVED. FIXED
OR TROUBLE MAX.
THE IP MUST NOT CHANGE, PER PAGE 15 TOLD

"the printer must be on the the allow list

?My printer doesn't show up in the list of available printers during installation.
If you are using an USB-enabled print driver to connect your printer to the Wireless Print
Server, you might need to download and use an Ethernet-enabled print driver. You will also
need to use IP Printing (LPR) if you use an Ethernet print driver. See
PAGE 73
WPS870G
LPR Printing
Setup"

step one, after used PS is reset. fully
the wifi must be setup wifi. page 49
