Since you didn't mention anything about your computer, it's not possible to give you the specific tips. Well, Microsoft Office 2007 and below versions didn't come with 64 bit, but the Microsoft Office 2007 32 bit works on all platforms, maybe 32 bit Windows OS or 64 bit. But Microsoft Office 2010 comes with 64 bit as well and it doesn't work on 32 bit platform, it works only 64 bit, anyway this Microsoft Office 2010 also comes as 32 bit version and you need not to worry about that.

If you are purchasing or downloading Microsoft Office 2007, any version, maybe Home and Student or Professional etc.. will definitely work on your computer.

if you have ms office installed on your pc you can access the ms office word through "Start>All Programs>MS Office>Ms office word" you can also try to launch it using Run. Click Start > Run and type winword
if cannot found error displays you probably not installed ms office. better purchase and install it then.
