I have a SONY amplifier, TA-F410R. When I turn it on I hear nothing. Only after I boost te volume (generally per speaker) does the amplifier burst open. If I choose not to pump up the volume, I can also wait up to 30 minutes, the music starts to play after the amp is heated up it seems. How can I solve this. When I bought the amp it just turned on normally (approx 20 years ago).

My 1st thought would be the main power supply capacitors.
If they are dried out or "leaky" they WILL take a long time b4 the power supply gets up to where it will run the amp
Get the main capacitors replaced

Testimonial: "Wow, what a fast answer. I will get new capacitors and replace them. I hope this is the right solution for my problem, but I have faith."

Will a Pyle PT530A 350watt receiver work with a pair of 4ohm 200wattRMS per speaker

Yes they will, but alway be careful with audio gear.
There are 30 watt speakers that can handle peaks of 500 watts for a short time. There are also 500 watt speakers I can "kill" with a peak less than 500 watt.
Most amplifier manufactures like to boost about the power an amplifier can deliver and their speakers can handle. But as long as they don't tell how long the speaker can handle the power and at what frequencies the value does not say anything.
Whit high power amplifiers, never switch over while the volume if at maximum.
You know what I mean. I can't hear my CD player. first turn the volume to the max and then press the CD button, and the speakers will explode. Always when you preaa any button on the pre amp juts lower de volume first and you won't destroy your speakers.
My old Kef Concerto's are almost 40 years of age. 30 watt and are running on a 500 watt Yamaha amplifier for years now. And believe me my chidden know how to punish a speaker. Never any problem, nr with the speakers, nor with the amplifiers.

Low volume controll

In recent years public service and all land mobile has moved to narrow band FM from the old 12.5khz or 5khz bandwidth FM to new 2.5 and 1.25 khz format.
The older scanners will play these transmissions with much lower volume and there is nothing that can be done to the scanner to solve this.
You can buy an amplified speaker and use that to further boost the audio or just replace the scanner with a new scanner built by Uniden or GRE (General Research Electronics) who make almost every scanner on the market. Both are good units.

Want to tie in 4 8-ohm speakers to a sony TA-FE370 amp: do I do it in series or parallel or as two separate pairs ?

The two separate pairs works best, as this amp is only capable to drive 4 Ohm per side, so if you hook up 2 in parallel per side you will drive 4 Ohm per side and nothing should blow up, hope this helps.

Hi I have got a sony TAFE 370 amplifier which does not produce any output, i have tried different input devices and also checked speaker wiring and the speaker selection is on i used it a day ago and all...

If you can't hear any sound from the headphone output, and by sound I mean a hum with the volume turned up, then the amp has either got a faulty internal power supply or the main amp has failed. Try looking inside to see if any fuse has blown. Also look around to see if you can see or smell anything has blown.

The volume is too low on my computer speakers

Hi, Mark Here, see I can help.

The 1907 does not amplify your sound it will let you control the volume to some degree but not boost the incoming sound.

If you had amplified speakers b4 your sound card requires amplified speakers.

Best two options i can give is.
  1. If it is a desktop you can install a amplified sound card. Hook to monitor speaker.
  2. Unplug monitor speaker &use amplified speakers.
Just so you know laptops use internal amplified speakers. If you decide to install sound card make sure it is an amplified card.

Hope that fixed ya! know not the best news. Need more help comment back. Please Rate.
Good Luck!
