Setup cannot find the required setup controller file. Either there was a network error, an error reading from the CD, DVD, or other installation media, or a problem with the package you downloaded.

SOURCE: I have Start Microsoft Office

I am glad to HELP YOU!

Definitely your INSTALLER [setup.exe or installer.msi - one of the two that you've used to install the software on your machine] is damaged. No matter if you have the installation files on a CD/DVD or even you've downloaded - they are corrupted.
I'd suggest you to get the Microsoft-Office-Word-2007 from another source, to DOWNLOAD it and to INSTALL it. You can take it from HERE for instance.

Before you will start the NEW INSTALLATION you will have to UN-INSTALL the previous installed application. Either you will go
START > CONTROL PANEL > ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and you will select it from there
or you will use REVO UNINSTALLER from HERE. It's FREE and it's VERY GOOD!
Just click on DOWNLOAD and install it after the downloading sequence is done.

My best regards for YOU!

Sounds like it's a compatability issue. Try right clicking the .exe setup file and choosing run in compatability mode. Or you could try right clicking the .exe setup file and going into property's, run in, and choose run this file in Windows xp service pack 2 mode. Apply the changes and try again. If that still won't work make sure your PC is fully upto date and has all net framework packages installed. A lot of programs refuse to install unless you have all the necessary updates and frameworks and Java installed. It doesn't specifically tell you the problem. Just gives you an error on install.

Hi, "Cannot copy file" Error occurs when the setup fails to read the data/ file from the CD/DVD. This could be due a corrupt, scratched or dirty CD or weak/ faulty CD/DVD Drive. Try to clean the CD with a CD Cleaner or mild glass cleaner using a soft lint-free cloth and remove and smudges etc. Better if you try another CD. Else, clean the lens of the CD Drive or replace it temporarily with a working CD Drive for installation.Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!CreativeTECH

"Setup cannot find the required setup controller file."

Sometimes a good idea to first copy the programme from the media (DVD, USB stick, etc) to a folder on the machine that the programme is going to be installed on.

If you have Firefox as the default web browser, change it to Internet Explorer while installing Office 2007 or Office 2010.

It should all run OK with Firefox as the default after installation (not checked yet).

Office 2007 Setup

Yaa but there might be read error during installation from your CD/DVD.

To fix this problem copy all content of the setup CD/DVD to your hard disc and run the installation from hard disc. If you will copied successfully (all the contents i.e. files and folders), then you can surely install your setup.
Gud luck...
