You have to have the driver for the interface installed CORRECTELY. Make sure you followed directions as sometimes you have to have device p;lugged in while installing and sometime not.

Then you will need the user software in your machine to talk to the interface as well... The interface PROBABLY must be directely connected to your machine, not through a USB hub.

Do not get MIDI signal via EDIROL UA25

Midi is data only, there is no actual sound to the midi tracks themselves. They need to be assigned to either a software synth or an external synth to actually make the sounds you want to hear.

For instance if you load a demo of a midi sequance you will need to add a software synth such as the TTS-1 or Roland sound canvas which are general midi compatable and will play the instruments sounds assigned to the demo's midi channels. Use the Synth Rack feature in Sonar to open one of them. Then you will need to assign the output of each of the midi tracks to that particular synth and you will get sound. Make sure to assing the synth's audio track to you UA-25 as its audio output.

I would suggest reading in the manual and following the tutorials included in the manual to get yourself familier with how this is all done. spacer.gif

Ctk 810in not able to read or play midi files

If you connect to PC using USB interface, then use a commercial midi player - e.g Melody Assistant or Harmony assistant to play MIDI files to it.

Or else download "SMF convertor" to convert midi files and download compatible file to keyboard.

I cant connect my yamaha ypt 320 to my pc using the midi

Assuming you have a MIDI interface on your computer, you need to connect the MIDI cables between the keyboard and the PC. You cross connect, that is, in to out and vice versa. You will ALSO need the driver software for the interface in the PC AND most importantly, some software in the PC to handle the MIDI for instance to record.

I have connected my casio to pc but pc songs and piano sound is not hearing in pc how it will work if any driver will use tell me about that i have casio ctk-2100 electronic keyboard

ASSUMING you have a MIDI interface connection, (not audio) then you need to set the PC to use a general MIDI sound and turn on the synth in the PC.

Go to control panel and open the sound icon. Select the device to use for MIDI playback in the appropriate section.

Casio CTK 810 with Windows 7

Hello,

You need a midi to usb interface, otherwise it is quite simple. I personally have an M-Audio interface that plugs into my midi out and plugs into your usb port on your computer. Once done, you can create a profile in Reason for your CTK. Windows 7 will notice the M-Audio device and then you will be able to use midi. You may have to install a specific driver for the particular M-AUdio device (or another midi to usb interface) but that is simple. You do not have to worry about a driver for the keyboard.

In my experience, M-Audio makes about the best midi/usb interface, and they come in all popular configurations. I use a very small 1-to-1 interface, though there are multi port interfaces one can buy. I purchased mine on eBay, though you can find them at Guitar Center if you have one in your City, or alternately Musiciansfriend.com web site. Many online stores sell them though. You amy want to use Amazon or a price comparison web site to find your best deal.

Thank you for using FixYa, and good luck.

I have a CTK-541 Casio. How do I connect it to my computer? I have a Gateway GT 5694.

Hi,

I have been doing computer-based recording for many years, as well as MIDI implementation both for live music and recording studio situations. I think I can help you with this.

Your keyboard is midi-capable, and this is how you would connect it to your computer. There are various ways you can accomplish this, but I will direct you to the easiest and probably best for your application.

I use an M-Audio MidiSport 1x1, which you can find at my favorite online music store, Musicians Friend. I have dealt with them for years, and they are the best and cheapest. Here's the link to the exact page you need:

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=midi+interface

There is also an option to connect your midi capable keyboard directly to a USB connection. It is also on that same page. Hope this helps. Trust me, it's a LOT easier than it sounds.
