Sad to say but other brands of wireless door and window sensors will not work with the ge simon. Other sensors has different command patterns that it will not recognize the command coming from the GE Security Simon 3.

SOURCE: I have GE simon 3 - Purchased ION MICRA -G

The 'tamper signal' for entering this device is sent to the panel automatically when the battery is installed into the unit. If you cannot get the panel to receive a tamper from a known good sensor, you must remove the battery, short the + & - terminals on the sensor to get rid of capacitance and reinstall the battery when the panel is ready to receive a signal.

Trying to add 10 window sensors to existing GE Simon 3 control panel that currently has just motion detect, glass break detect, and 3 door sensors. How to install and program them to work? Thanks you,...

First you need to have the installer code. Open the fromt panel of thealarm and enter in "4-3-2-1" (Default installer code) If it accepts this number then you can begin to program the doors and windows. If you don't knowtheinstaller code you mayneed to default the system and reprogram everything. If you contact meIcan walk you through the processor.

I have ge simon 3 - Purchased ion micra -g wireless window and door compatible sensors. Didn't come with how to add sensor. Wants me to push button on sensor; where is that button

I'm having the same problem on a used Simon. I think the button is inside the wireless transmitter. It has a spring attached to it. Just press on the spring to send wireless signals to the panel. My problem is I press on the spring and the panel does not receive the signal, even with a $20 fresh Lithium Ion battery from Radio Shack.

GE Simon - Reset Installer Code & Remove Sensors

I am sure you already guessed this but it appears someone has changed the default installer code. Using the default installer, dealer, or master codes defeat the purpose of a security system as most criminals know the default codes. The only way I know of to regain control of this panel is to reset it to factory defaults. This does mean that you will have to completely re-progam the system. I would document as much stuff as you can from the display before resetting it. If you don't have a copy of the installation manual I am providing a link below. Hope this helps.

Repair parts for simon 3

Try eBay. Look for any of the following keywords:

"GE Simon"
"ITI" (that's eye-tee-eye, for Interactive Technologies, Inc. original developer of Simon, now a subsidiary of GE Security)
"319.5" (the frequency on which simon sensors operate).

You'll find almost any sensor you can imagine there.

GE Simon 3 Add or Change a Sensor to my system?

You need to use an installer code to add/remove sensors. Depending on what number of digits your alarm code is set for will determine the number for the intaller code. Look in the installer manual for the code. Then follow these steps:

Open the panel.
Key in installer coe
Select Add
Select Sensor/Remote
Activate the sensor you want to add. Some sensors have a button, some have to opened to activate.
Choose sensor name and group. Groups are listed in the manual. Basically, if you want the sensor to arm when the doors arm (such as for a window sensor or door sensor) put it in group 10 or 13. If it's a smoke sensor, group 26; motion detector, group 17 and keyfob, group 01.
Press done when finished and run the test to make sure the system is reading the sensor.
