Trying to use SpeedStream 5100 with new DSL Provider

We moved from SBC/AT&T service area to CenturyTel. Rather than leasing a DSL Modem from CenturyTel, I was hoping to use the SpeedStream 5100 that I purchased through SBC/AT&T. Also have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router that I want to rehook back up to DSL Modem. It all worked with SBC/AT&T as my provider - how can I make it work with CenturyTel? I have naturally tried both company's tech support but they keep pointing their finger at each other. I found this link -- is this a good start even though it is a Speedstream 4100
http://www.netfaqs.com/windows/DSL/config/speedstream4100/advanced/index.asp

Thank you for any assistance someone can provide me.

I have Centurytel myself, so maybe I can help:

A link to your Speedstream 5100 router:

http://www2.windstream.net/downloads/links/SpeedStream211.pdf

And the typical setup for the westell 6100 that centurytel uses:

Centurytel will provide you with your username and password.

PPPoE Configuration:
VPI 8
VCI 35
Protocol: PPPoE

Hope this helps.

1. In your web browser browse to »192.168.0.1 This address will be located on a yellow sticker on the bottom of your modem.
2. The first screen will ask you for your Modem Access Code. This also will be located on the same yellow sticker.
3. At the login screen type in your SBC/AT&T member ID and password.
4. Click Connect.
5. If everything is successful you will get a screen that says, "You Are Connected." and your Internet light will go solid green. If you username or password is invalid you will get a screen stating such. If there are other problems you will get a screen stating, "The DSL connection is down."

Router to connect or sub the speedstream 5100

Option 1 (easy)
you could buy a switch or router and put in line with your modem.
you will have to set up appropriate networking on the xbox
DSL --> MODEM --> SWITCH <-- PC

Option 2 (harder)
you could get a wired/wireless AP (Access Point) for your PC and run ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) through Windows. connect the XBOX through your PC
