Hi,

1. Go to START, then CONTROL PANEL.
2. Look for the SYSTEM icon, click that.
3. Click HARDWARE tab, then click DEVICE MANAGER

This will display all Installed Device Drivers & Uninstalled device drivers, usually uninstalled device drivers got yellow exlamation mark icon on it.

4. Look for the Sound Device, then right click on that and click UPDATE DRIVER.
5. You need to browse for the right and proper Device Driver for this device, if not available, you need to download the Driver from the internet, and usually the sound device is provided with CD Installer, use that.

6. If all procedures were done correctly, then that should solve your problem.

If this procedure helps you solve your problemt, please spare a little time to rate my solution.

Dear Sir or Madam When I want to play a music on my computer , I get this error: "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound...

Yes there is something wrong! The sound card driver is corrupted!

YOu need to check on device manager again. Look for your drivers there.

If you do not see the EXACT NAME of your sound card, then the driver that is installed is a DEFAULT driver made by the os.

Ex: This is a sound card driver name listed in Device manager:
IDT HIGH DEFINISION AUDIO

This is an example of a default sound card driver that will not work well on certain sounds or will not work at all:

LEGACY SOUND DEVICE

Even thought you many not see a yellow question mark (which you should be checking for too just in case)on any of the listings for your hardware, chances are you are still using a default sound card driver due to a corruption to its original sound card driver.

So recheck your device manager and find out the exact name of your original sound card. If there is no match to your exact name of your sound card, then you need to REINSTALL your sound card driver again and you will immediatly see your sound card working again :)

If this does not work, you may have to change your sound card.

Hope this helps :)

When i format my lap i miss my sound drivers, i need it immediatly, if anyone have please help me

Do you have the original drivers? do you know what sound hardware you have( check the system in the control panel) Or if you need it immediately, use a generic windows driver( when it asks you what driver you want to update to, choose from the list; it will show some generic driver) question. do you have a PC runnig windows, apple, linux, solaris? is it an internal sound card, or you upgraded it ? if you did upgraded it, you need to get into your bios, and choose the option to disable the internal sound card( usually it tels you when you boot, it say press "xxxxx" for BIOS. be careful what you do in there. hope this works, otherwise, clarify some more.

SOUND DRIVER

Physically examine the make and model of the sound card as sometimes these are replaced with generic ones.
Alternatively, run a driver detector to get an accurate model of the sound card.

Help me please

You put the sound card in the first slot that has a notch in it so it wont fit anywhere else. once physically installed, install the drivers from the CD.

The sound card should go in what is called the PCI slot which is the WHITE slots that you should have 2 or more of depending on the system board.

Install those drivers from CD as Well. Make sure to plug everything correctly.

Hope this helps as you problem isnt clear .
It didnt translate very well. \\

Good Luck

Hi, I used to have some of these cards. I have a driver called Ensoniq Vivo which might work. I will email it to you - I don't see a place to put drivers here on this site. You might also try this driver: http://www.soundcard-drivers.com/drivers/88/88810.htm
