Needs to have the hyper module repaired... There are a group of caps on the hyper that need to be replaced... The hyper module is a stand-up board on the left looking in the back of the unit just behind the jack panel... Need to remove it and send in in for rebuild or attempt the repair yourself..

I have a Toshiba tv that is connected to Direct tv and I want to know how to connect my new Phillips dvd player to it my tv?

Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.

Picture is shakey when plying dvds blue ray plays perfect ???

Doesn't sound like the tv. Do you have it hooked up to a cable box? It could be whatever you have it hooked to for your normal tv viewing. The cable box could be going bad.

Why my regular dvd player with widescreen movies does not fill my hd tv ?

ok, There are 2 aspect ratio's for tv/movies. Widescreen Standard
If you have a Widescreen TV, Widescreen formatted dvd's will fill the hole screen, Standard formatted dvd's will not fill the whole screen
if you have a Standard TV, Standard formatted dvd's will fill the whole screen, Widescreen formatted dvd's will not fill the whole screen
this is normal, check to see the format of the dvd you are trying to use.

Play downloaded music through 50 in plasma tv using a lap top

Static text such as a library of music constantly displayed will burn onto the lap-top screen, therefore, rather select your visualisation option showing a constantly moving pattern during playback. This is a much safer option.

Dvr4-alert full screen playback

That's because this is a quad. It compresses all 4 video feeds into 1 file. When you play it back, it decompresses the video and shows you each camera. Playback through this unit is the only way to see 1 camera at a time.
To be able to copy 1 camera shot to a DVD, this is what you need to do: You need to have a TV with Video in and Video out jacks.  Connect the Quad to the TV Video in jack and connect the TV Video out jack to your DVD Video in jack. Playback a single camera shot on the quad to the TV and hit record on your DVD. - The DVD will record whatever is shown on the TV.

I have a pioneer dv656a dvd player and on some dvd's i play on my samsung ps42q96hd plasma tv, it displays horizontal lines that move from bottom to the top of the screen constantly. Is this normal for a...

Try disconnecting everything from the tv *except* the DVD player (that includes cable tv). You are using a component or digital connection, right? Some of these HDTVs are **** at displaying a composite feed. If this clears up the problem then the lines were probably caused by a fault in your cable tv, and you need to take it up with them.

ANYWAY, if the rolling lines remain even with everything else unplugged, it could also be electrical interference from something near by, like power cords or something.

Shakey dvd copy

Was your original tape a commercial one?I.E. was it pre-recorded? Did you use a time-base corrector to re-establish the vertical interval? If you can answer yes to the first and no to the second one, that is probably the problem as copy guard is present on those tapes and must be circumvented to make "archival copies"...accordianman
