I have a lg rz42px11 , i change the z board because the chips it it out of order, but now with the new board the chip it is very warm and the video same time begin with noise. i found the + 15v generated from y board it is 12 v instable

I do not know who was helping you before but the problem you are having can be caused by three boards in the tv each by themselves or in combination. Those are the control board with part#6871QCH053G, the Y- board part #6871QYH036D or the Z-board part#6871QZH041B. Without being able to do voltage and signal measurements directly for you, the Z-board is likely the culprit here. But I will tell you that even experienced tv technicians find themselves swapping one or more of the boards until they fix the problem. I am assuming here of course that you have not had problems with your tv before. The part #s I have given you are for the improved boards that LG has assembled to take care of future similar problems and come with their latest training manual for technicians. You won't find a part number for this ic. These boards were made to be replaced as one piece. A new board should do the trick. If you can try to check for a short to ground. Most of the plugs on the board have voltages labeled. If there is a dead short you will see it with an ohm meter.

The chip is not replaced by itself but the whole board most likely these days- component level repairs are not done by these types of equipment.

Check capacitor with a digital volt meter. In my Samsung, the TV has a chip that check to see if all circuits are OK before turning on the set. Samsung has a power, input and video boards. The problem is when it check the high voltage circuit and it does not have 390 volts, the chip turn-off the power instead. (It is a safety thing.) You can buy a new power board or fix it yourself. The power board is where the 120 volts AC is plugged in, and near the 120 volts is small transformer, then you will see a capacitor rated 100 uf at 450 volts. Check for 390 volts here. If the voltage is less, then replace this capacitor with a 350 uf at 400 or at 450 volts.Samsung used a "small" capacitor when it should have ordered at large capacitor. Good luck.

Hello, it sounds like you have a bad chip on the DM board, these sets also have a "white dots" issue with the same chip. There are video's on how to change the chip (the best on is from Shopjimmy.com they also sell the chip). You may want to watch the video before you order the part.....tks

This is a very common issue with this model TV. The problem is caused by the power supply controller chip. This is a small 3 pin chip on the video logic board. When this chip fails the TV video board never gets the signal to turn on and display a picture. Here is a picture of the video controller board from the TV with the power supply controller chip circled, and here is a link to order the IC chip. Open the back of the TV and look at the little chip, you should be able to see that it is burnt. Replacing the chip should bring the TV back to life.

The hp dv6000 has a video card issue that is very comman the cpu heatsink and the video card and conncted to the same copper heatsink and what happens is the video card overheats and the pins that are soldered to the board come loose now there is a couple of ways to fix it option a is to take the laptop apart and remove the motherboard and heatsink and the cpu chip then locate the video chip and isolate the video card and heat it up to remelt the solder points this can be done by taking a aluminum can and cuting out the square that is same size of video chipthen with a heat gun heat up the chip so the solder joints remelt to the board but BE VERY CARFUL IF YOU OVER HEAT THE CHIP IT WILL MELT once the chip has cooled then reistall your cpu chip add new thermal paste and get a flat square piece of copper the size of the cpu chip and put it on the cpu chip then add more thermal paste and put the heat sink back on and reassemble the laptop and if you didnt damage the chip it should fire right up option b is to buy a replacement motherboard that has the upgraged heatsink installed and put that in but make sure yoyu order the right board check the replacement part number sticker on the motherboard and make sure yoyu order the right one i have done this process to about 200 of these hp dv6000 and they are still working today

NO WAY---every model uses different boards--LG is even known to use different boards in sets with the same model number--those have a bar code label on them to id them for replacement.

That is true. You need to change a new board as when the chip is blown, all the related SMT cap, resistors, and transistor were gone, too. Those tiny component are hard to repalce one by one. Importantly, some of them was changed value and it only happens when the TV is warm up.

If your friend is REALLY REALLY good with soldering circuit boards, it is possible to replace just the chip.

As far as getting the chip, have fun. You can try to contact nvidia and explain the situation and see if they can get you the chip special ordered, but I wouldn't count on it. There may be so rare dealer out there that may have a new chip but as far as I know, you aren't going to find one. I guess the other option is that you could contact different circuit repair and computer repair shops to see if they have any ties to someone who can get you this chip.

Here's my honest opinion though. For the time, effort, and money that you would have to put into finding, ordering, and replacing the chip (which I may add, this is an extremely unrecommended process, because one little mistake could fry the motherboard for good or the whole computer) you will probably be better off just getting a new board. This would be about the only way to obtain the chip anyway and it would be pointless to take it off and stick it on another.

Basically it comes down to this. It is probable that it can work. I would recommend getting a new board.

1. It is a problem with the system board
2. The problem is with the soldering
3. We've pinpointed the problem to the video chip

There is a defect in the solder job on the video chip attached to the system board. The solution of applying pressure to the top of the chip solves the problem every time.

My suggestion is to place a 1" metal washer on top of the video chip. So that it does not move around, be sure to wedge one end of it under the black tape that covers half the video chip. Now re-attach the heatsink cover and bingo, problem solved AND your video chip is keeping cool.
