I have an AEG Santo refrigerator (model 72384-KA) which is about five years old. Thick ice has started building up on the back wall as you would expect if the door was left ajar. All the seals appear to be in good order and the temperature of the fridge is set to +5 degrees C.

hi tracy, think its possibly better getting a repair guy in as this fault is not streight forward. possibly a fault in the defrost circuit, or freezer fan not functioning, or possibly a leak in the system. all theese areas need testing equiptment.

SOURCE: AEG Santo fridge not cooling but freezer is working.

The compressor is obviously still good or the freezer wouldn't work.I'm sure you checked the settings, but turn the freezer all the way up (hot)after it is cool so the unit doesn't come on for the freezer, then turn the refrigerator controls all the way down to the coolest setting.listen for the compressor to start,and/or the fans to run.If the compressor starts, and no fan there may be a problem with the fan.(this is a general test I'm not familiar with your specific unit which may not have a fan,but most newer units do).If the compressor doesn't start after a short time the thermostat/control for the refrigerator section is broken, and needs replaced.

SOURCE: AEG SANTO No_frost refrigerator beeps with 5 sec freqency

We have the same fridge, and I could not find my model either!

The label is hidden on the bottom of the top part on the left side, you need to take the veggie tray out to see it. I spent about 3 hours finding the model on the net, and in the manual it said where to look lol.

This mysterious model is the AEG SANTOS 3895-6 KG AKA S3895-6 KG productnumber 928405123-- last two digits can be 00-33.

We had the same problem, solution: press and hold the ON button for minimum of 3 seconds. The fridge switches off. Wait 10 seconds and repress the same button. That´s the quick fix.

To make it go away completely switch off fridge, pull out plug, and thoroughly clean the air vents on the back below using compressed air. After this the problem went away permanently.

Good practice to airclean every 6 or 7 months. You can find the manual for the S3895-6 KG on http://www.electrolux-ui.com:8080

How can i stop my larder fridge from producing lots of ice?

If your fridge is built into the furniture, pull it out by releasing all the retaining screw, clean the condenser and the areas behind your fridge. Dust and fluffs reduce the efficiency of the fridge. Also turn the dial to three, if it is higher, older fridge do not need to be cranked to higher numbers. If no joy call an engineer, the level of refrigerant in your system may need topping up. Will cost you anything from sixty pounds for a qualified engineer to do this.

My AEG Santo freezer is leakin water on the floor every few days. There is also a build up of ice inside the bottom of the freezer, even though we very recently defrosted the freezer. This fridge/freezer...

try pulling out the fridge very slowly, any signs of hard resistance than stop. there should be a main water shut off back there. if still uncomfortable with this you can always shut the main water off to the house before trying. hope this helps.

You probably have a build up of ice in the back...pull the fridge out and defrost with a hair dryer...I had this problem and it was solved by doing this...a bit messy though!

Defrosting

Switch thermostat to "0". Alternatively switch off, open doors and scrape excess ice off inside walls. Do not stab at the ice. Knock remaining frost off with blunt hammer or block of wood and scoop out with dustpan before switching back on

Fridge freezer not keeping temp

Hi,

As the weather is getting warmer for many people their freezer2_bing.gif and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Ice building up on the internal back wall of AEG SANTO K 9 18 00-4i Integrated fridge. this is meant to be self defrosting. We have not defrosted in 3 years and the build up has happened over the last 6...

Your defroster mechanism inside the unit has gone out. What this is is a long tube that heats up to maintain the ice from forming as you say. It possibly went out at the last defrost cycle as you had stated. this defrost cycle is done by the fridge on its own as the has been designed to do. I would suggeest having the unit serviced by a tech since you have an intergrated system. Good Luck on your Repairs
